GCU Forum - Watermarks

Christine__136991 Junior Member artist Posts: 92	Watermarks Mar 19^th, 2011, 5:45am I was reading in the F&Q section that GCU puts watermarks on our images (not the thumbnails) to protect our work. I don't see watermarks on my images. Is there a section where I have to check off if I want watermarks? Thanks for any advice.

Susan_142450 Gold Member artist Posts: 522	Re: Watermarks Reply #1 - Mar 19^th, 2011, 6:00am There is usually a watermark on the larger image to prevent/discourage someone from screen capturing or otherwise lifting your image to print on their own. It obviously does not appear on the printed cards.

Lj_135293 Gold Member artist Posts: 1178	Re: Watermarks Reply #5 - Mar 19^th, 2011, 6:41am It is all found in your Global Preferences. Notice it says Med-Large images it is offered.. It can also take some time till you see any changes made to take-show.

I'm always on the fence on making a decision about this... I'm very protective of especially my digital art designs on the cards.. I have had people display my original arts on sites without my permission, and it makes me Angry

Then, on the other hand.. I know it's distracting for the customer. I can never decided which is best to do.. But now that you mention it again, I have just changed my settings too have also watermarks on the large images.

In my opinion customers are used to them by now. Completely understand the comment about the removal though. All it does is discourage the Google Image users from linking to it.
