This is a new store front module that we added yesterday evening that allows shoppers to "Like" or tweet about your store.  It's turned on for everyone by default but if you want to remove it you can visit the Store Layout page to turn it off.

Thank you Becky  Cheesy

Setting up a store on Facebook looks easy enough except it is confusing   undecided  which type of shop page to choose. Can you tell me which store page I should open for a combination GCU &/Or Zazzle?

I can start another thread for this if you like ...  Cool

No offense to those of you who have music that automatically comes up upon viewing the page, it IS a little disconcerting.  Many folks do NOT like music coming up on a page, and though the music may be pleasant to some, it is NOT always to everyone's taste.  If you use Playlist, you can choose to have it available but not come up automatically.  It may actually be hurting you store visits.

Couldn't agree with you more 'e'!  I leave sites immediately when there is music or video that is auto and let me also mention, that on a site like GCU where many people may visit your store during office hours to take care of sending a quick card, they too will be put off by it.  I personally have read from pro web designers that a site with auto play music is the site of an amateur vs a professional...unless of course you are in the music business  Grin

Not to mention that when you add all those plug and play modules to a store front, you are slowing the load time for your store down and some people don't trust a site that takes longer than normal to load.

Just food for thought from reading books on internet marketing...take it or leave it  Grin

Bringing this thread back to the "Social Networking Module" discussion.  I think this is great, but GCUers do need to realize that promoting their store is also promoting GCU.  When a store has links and other content that directs one AWAY from GCU (and their store) above their GCU content, they are NOT helping themselves, nor GCU.  This content should really be put on a home page or blog.  Your GCU page really isn't the place to direct customers to OTHER sites.  A simple direct to your own web page or blog is fine, but promos for all the other POD sites you are involved with, is really counter productive.  Set up your own page or blog and promote all from there.  Use your GCU page to promote your cards on GCU.  Most cards are found by searches NOT by going to ones store.  Promoting OTHER venues from your store neither helps you OR GCU in general.

Am I making ANY sense at all????

Nope, no affiliate codes for extra pennies.  The real intent for this is for shoppers who like your cards/store to spread the word and ultimately have more new visitors and shoppers.

You set up a Facebook page for each. I just used the business one myself because selling products is business related.

It is easy to do. Let me know if I can help you at all.

As far as people not liking my music player on my store... they can turn it off if they do not want to listen to it. They way I see it, just like Burger King, it's my store and I am going to have it my way. As far as sells, I am still selling cards.  Grin

Back to the new buttons - that's great! Will make it easier to promote on Twitter so it'll be interesting to see if that makes any difference to sales/visits.  Smiley

Thank you Eve. Smiley For you I said, "Beautiful nature photos to send to real friends."   kiss

You have such fabulous photos up. Smiley I favorited 2 while I was there and even got some ideas.

Hey, just for an experiment, I clicked I wanted to sell your swan card for mother's day then put *that* into the tweet slot. It barely fit but will be fun to see if it sells.  Cool

I owe you one, so I chose your blue fireworks to put on my facebook.

Janet, I just liked your store. I really love your beautiful flower cards. Flowers are my favorite as well. Check them out if you ever get the chance. I will come back to yours when I have more time to look.
