Thanks for your patience while we fine-tune this feature.
 
We've modified the code so the shopper can use the link even AFTER the artist has removed the card from their cart.    
 
The only problem that represents is if you need to make more changes to the card, but you've already deleted it from your cart.    That's not a problem.    All you have to do is use the same link you gave the shopper to get the card back into your cart.    
 
The help text does not reflect the above functionality.   It'll be modified next week.

I just wanted to report that I used this feature for some invitations for a shopper and it seemed to work well.  
 
However, I have an observation.
 
On the email from Artist Services the order did not show the customized version. It showed the original, fill in your information version. Which makes sense since customizing the inside does not generate a new product ID#. However, as far as I can tell, I have no way of confirming if the customer ordered the correct customized version from the link or the general product ID version.
I have been working closely with this customer on this, and did follow-up with her to be sure she used the link I sent for the card, and that everything was showing correctly on her order. As far as I can tell she has ordered the customized version and she said she made an adjustment to type color.  It would be helpful if when you click on the card image you could see the custom version, not the general version, to be sure they used the right link (if more than one was generated), and to confirm things such as changing ink color.  
 
Perhaps I am trying to be too involved?? but often folks need extra help and reassurance and I like to know they are getting exactly what they need, especially with invitations for special occasions where they need to be on time and correct.
Is there anyway for us to see/check the orders?

You are correct.   The Artist Order confirmation emails don't show any details on the inside on the card.    This was done on purpose for regular orders, as you can imagine it would raise privacy concerns.
 
In the case of custom card example like yours, it would make sense to share inside details in the confirmation email, but that's not easy for us to do.    My suggestion is to ask the customer to click on their Order History link on their order confirmation, select their order and click on the view inside message link.  Other option is to have them forward their order confirmation email and you can view their order details (make sure you're logged out of GCU when you do this).

That would be good to know; I have a feeling it would require a new link but would love to receive definitive information on this.
 
I'd like to report that this link-sharing option worked wonderfully well for me. I was very gratified to be able to design the entire inside of the card for the customer, who just ordered 100 invitations via the link.

You actually don't have to send them a new link, but the shopper does have to click on the link again to get the latest copy of the card from the Artist's shopping cart.  
 
It's up to you if you want to instruct the shopper to remove the original card from their cart before clicking on the link again.   In essence, every time a shopper clicks on a link given by you, it takes a snapshot of the card from your shopping cart and inserts a copy in the shopper shopping cart.
