Imagine Keeping Every Card Approved Email
Mar 7th, 2011, 7:35am

Can you imagine having to keep every email that says when the card was accepted? This is the only way that documents the published date. If the artists submit their work for copyright this date must be supplied to the US government.

GCU, perhaps you can help out artists by having the database display the accepted or approved on date on the card export data.

Just a thought as other agencies do this.

I like this idea, I have many of my approval e-mails saved but not all... this idea would work great for everybody!

The data base is already done.  Under your Management page, see the store report export.   This export gives you every card and its date along with other valuable info.

Yep, it's there! I see it. It is just labeled Create Date. I thought this matched the Congress of Library's definition of creation date. Oooh let me guess it's the GCU's database create date? Which = published date (Congress of Library's definition).

OK, I'm all straightened out now with labels and definitions.

This is great! Thank you very much!

If you can download and print that as well.  it really helps in organizing when you're working in card management.  When you get a quite a few more cards added, then download and print a new sheet and throw out the old.  You can always open a new browser and have the export at hand when organizing cards, but I find it's easier having the sheet than trying to jump back and forth in windows.
