Why I post my cards to GCU instead of other PODs
Mar 4th, 2011, 7:41am

Usually my thoughts are:  get my images up on multiple PODs (multiple streams of income) but I have to say I think differently about my cards.

Why?

(1) quality control.  The cards at GCU are of higher artistic quality (although quite varied) because of the approval process.
(2) approval process.  Yes, I know some artists hate the 2 week approval wait and some find the categories confusing.  But after working for magazine editors with my photography (and in my other artistic venture, as a stage actress who audtions for parts) - I know that the guidance from GCU (or from my editor or director) will ultimately showcase my talents better than I could alone.
(3) there are less cards here.  Because of 1 and 2, there are less cards here than on the other PODs.  Makes it easier to find my cards.
(4) GCUs marketing.  They do a great job on the search engines AND they have multiple sites as well (BigDates, Reminders, GCU, etc).
(5) I HATE having to customize my back of card credit (for those rare POD sites that allow it).  But I WANT the card to have a link to my main site, not only to the POD that is representing me!

For my photoshoot clients, I create 5x7 images in my SmugMug gallery in case the clients want cards.  I also create something special in private galleries at Zaz just for those clients (ornaments, cards, etc) in case they want something right away.  But for the bulk of my cards, GCU has won my heart!

Now, I'm only praying for the day that they move to monthly direct deposits over quarterly ... hint hint hint!

I agree, CGU is by far the best place to sell my cards. I sell more on here than anywhere. I would love monthly paychecks, but that is offset by the fact that I have never been charged for a bad credit card. On Zaz, I get charged back half a dozen times a month.
I appreciate the approval, they have found some real bloopers for me! With the new approvers on board, the approval time should soon be shorter.

Just wondering Norma...are you saying you get charged for a bad credit card use or the sale does not go through therefore your commission is removed for the item?
Hope that's not a dumb question Cheesy

As for GCU, I agree Peggy that there is a quality here that you do not find at other POD's where you can load up and go! I know I make mistakes, I think I am pretty careful but sometimes the obvious is what I miss. Thank goodness for the review process, they save me from looking unprofessional and guarantee the card to make happy PamJArts customers.

I also love that GCU is constantly expanding it's horizon's in the marketing/business sense. It just feels like GCU is going to be bigger and better and I'd like to stick around. Smiley

I mean the sale is canceled and so my commission is remove. It happens too often for my liking, more than I would like, and usually on high value items.
