Opinions welcomed ...

Hi Group -

I am going back and forth with how I feel about this design.  I'm open to feedback - positive or constructive, I have thick skin  Wink

Hi Peggy. I think it would be cuter if the Chocolate doggy was left natural among the colored eggs. He is really cute but maybe a shot more like, "I didn't do it, mommy." look? My big ol' golden retriever had that look *down!* You'd never known he ate my watch! among other things.  Grin

Hi Webs - thanks for the reply - but I'm curious .. what do you mean by leaving the dog "more natural"?  I'm confused (easy to do before my morning coffee, tho)

Hi Peggy,
I think you have a great idea going here.
My thoughts.... my eye is drawn to the pink pattern on the egg rather than the dog. I would try straight color on the egg, a less intense color or a pattern that is subtle so the dog stands out as the focal point. My thought is pale/mid pink would compliment his coloring well. It might work with a small polka dots pattern, something that blends to the eye.

ahhhh, MUCH better!  I also softened the shadowing a bit.

Instead of another color, I went with the bg color, and dropped my saturation to -25 for a just slightly difference in color.

Now to apply it to a slew of breeds!

Thank you both!!

It looks better Peggy.
Hope it's OK to add I still would love to see a pinkish tone in there to distinguish the profile of the egg from the background
Ducking now..... Grin

no need to duck!  I'm still considering a pinkish tone - playing with it to see if it will work with all my different colors of dogs (and to be honest, because I'm pretty sick of pink right now after a month and a half of valentine's photo shoots - LOL LOL)

OK I'll come out from hiding now Grin

I understand about the pink part! and I guess it might imply a 'female' dog, just thought of that undecided
Can't wait to see what you come up with Smiley

Hey Peggy,

I love your verse/message inside the card, i thought it was really sweet and funny (it made me smirk) haha.

I think the dog in the card is fantastic and i like the idea of the dog sitting on the grass with the easter eggs. my only thought when i saw it was the background might look better with a little texture? such as some soft clouds? the only reason i thought that was because you have this great texture built up with the blades of grass and the beautiful detail on the eggs and the dog so when you notice the background, it might look a little flat just leaving it as one shade?

if not clouds, what do you think about a slightly darker (a shade slightly darker than the current background) colour pattern? just something subtle as to not take away from the dog or eggs but just enough to break up the colour in the background?

Anyhow, even left as is it looks great - best of luck  Smiley

Very nice Peggy   Yes, that is what I meant by "more natural".  Grin

I think Rachel is right about the clouds. The white background makes the graphic look a bit washed out. Maybe a blue sky with fluffy clouds? Would outline your Chocolate dog and combine the elements well.  A cute sun might be a bit much ... ? In my mind a small sun with little rays looks cute though. lol  Cool

I think it looks great! The dog stands out really well. I used to have a buff colored Cocker she was so smart.

In case you want a 'man's' opinion.  LOL

I like it now, although I might have gone with a neutral color for the egg that the spaniel is on.  A natural off white or tan similar to an unpainted egg.  I think it needs a background different than the blue background of the rest of the card, but not an Easter egg paint color.  Just my feeling, the white egg circle just looks unfinished to me.

But it's your creation, my dear!  Go with what says to the world, "I AM PEGGY! This is MY CREATION!!!"  LOL

Best always, Randy

OK - so, who likes the blue egg and who likes the pink?  Your feedback has been so wonderful!  I've been uploading the cards anyway (with the Holiday coming up) but I can always do a quick change to the image after the fact (LOVE that feature here).
