Robert_135612 GCU Newbies artist Posts: 40	Find My Store Feb 26^th, 2011, 10:49am Hi all. How might a customer find my particular store when she is on the GCU home page? To search "Valley Visions" brings up my cards but not my store. Forgive me if it is obvious and I just missed it. Bob.

Bob,
When you do a search from the home page, you'll only bring up cards that you have your name in the keywords or title somewhere. The search will not take you to an artist's store.
We just had the discussion on whether to use your store name in the keywords and came to the conclusion that it's not a good idea if you use common terms in your store name like "valley" or "visions" as you have in your name. If you have cards with 'visions' or 'valley' as the theme, then you're OK!

I don't use the store name in the key words so the search must pick up on the store name itself or perhaps the artist. What I would like is to be able to tell a fan to find my store without their having to use the entire url address for it. Thanks, Bob.

Well, i just clicked on GCU's home page and see you are the fatured store - featured artist there. Not sure how that works, but congratulations!!!

The only thing I'd suggest is to insert a code in your keywords such as VVs and let your fans know that all your cards are keyworded that way. That's something that won't be entered in an average search and shouldn't interfere with any searches. Otherwise, making your actual store link readily available so all your fans have to do is click on it is the best thing I would think. You can get weblinks at your GCU administration page which you can insert into all your online activity and email signatures.

Hi Bob!

Congrats on being the featured store. Very exciting!

There is actually a link to other artists by name on GCU under your feature on the homepage. It's a way for customers to search for artists, but I'm not sure if it's just the featured artists that are searchable there or the entire community of artists on GCU. So if your fans click on that tiny artist link under the featured store (whoever it is) they will find you. It takes a bit to see it on the homepage. You can search by store or artist name after you click the link from the homepage.
