GCU Mobile is LIVE

Announcing live this week, GreetingCardUniverse.com mobile. What does that mean?! People can now shop GCU on the go via their smart phones. Basically when GCU is accessed via a smart phone the user will be redirected to the mobile version for ease of use.

Yes! Shoppers can actually purchase your cards on GCU from their phones

And orders are already coming in! Grin

These sales will be reflected in your sales notification emails and earnings report just like all other sales, no difference. Same price, same discounts, same earnings, etc.

You will certainly notice some differences as we've had to shrink the site down to a miniature version. However it is fully functional with a few minor deviations from the regular version worth noting:
>> for shopper accounts only, NOT artist accounts
>> 2 card wide format/display
>> no artist storefronts but via artist credits will produce an "all cards by artist" view
>> no image upload to inside of card

Features coming next week:
>> address book functionality
>> applying card credits at checkout

So if you have a smart phone (iPhone, iTouch, Droid, Blackberry, etc.) give it a try and let us know what you think or if you run across anything that doesn't seem to be working properly.

This is very cool. I was on GCU on my iPhone earlier and it seemed to change right before my eyes to the new mobile format. This is great! It's easy to use and I really think folks will use this "on the go." Way to go GCU! A happy surprise on a very snowy day (like we really needed another foot of snow)

I tried Greeting Cards, Greeting Card Universe, GCU, etc. and it isn't coming up. IPhone results are a part of an IPad search -- are you listed with the App search for IPads or am I doing something wrong. Great idea! I love it!

Hi Sandra,

Not sure what do you mean by "not coming up on the iPad"? On the iPad, it should work just like your computer, not a mobile phone. The iPad screen is big enough to show the full site, so we didn't want to limit it to the mobile view. The GCU site looks great on my iPad, so I'm a little confused what you may be referring to.
