Love and Romance for Her
Feb 21st, 2011, 5:33am

I just had card #768602 returned for edits with the comment to add "for her specific text" to the card.
I designed the card in pink to convey that it was for a female and I think if I add a "for her" message on the inside it will detract from the message I have already written. Should I not put the card in the "for her" subcategory and just place it in Love and Romance?

Hi Alda...I had the same experience way back when.

If putting the word, girl, gal, lady, woman...whatever in your text doesn't work for you, then I think the answer will be to remove it from the For Her category.  In my case I was able to make the adjustment.

Either way, your best option in this case is to have this discussion via email with the reviewer.  You'll get a quicker response (though GCU is closed today) from the reviewer in charge of your card.

Good luck!

Dear Alda,

Doreen has given you good advice. It's best to reply to the card notification you were sent and ask the reviewer why you've been asked to make the edits. Fellow artists cannot tell you why a reviewer sent a card back for edits. Reviewers also don't check the forum as often as they check their e-mail.

Card front color and image don't always speak clearly and directly to the category. If you don't feel that you can add text to the inner verse that speaks to a female recipient, changing the category to Love & Romance---General would be the way to go.
