Laura, don't forget to change the keywords in each individual "age specific' card to reflect that age as a numerical number, spelled out and the hyphenated version if applicable.  For example, 26, twentysix, twenty-six, twentysixth,...

For the rest of us.

Being specific and accurate is so important in keyword searches.  You want to include every possibility for your card to be seen, but at the same time isn't any good to draw someone in and have it be nothing close to what they were looking for.

It's like having a pet shop and standing out front just grabbing every passer by.  if you drag them into your store and they aren't looking for or don't like cats or dogs, you aren't going to have a remote chance of making a sale anyway!

Thanks Randall! I appreciate the tip on the keywords. Always something new to learn there!
I didn't get as high as the single digits as my cards were just aimed at the younger crowd, but great advice when I get into those double digits. Is it also worth putting in the actual number or are searches always with words for ages?  Hmmmm...!

Thanks again for your help!

Wow! We're on page two of this post!

Hi Laura,

In my experience it's worth putting in the actual numbers.

There is a useful tool on your manage store page>Reports and Analysis>Traffic Analytics.
There you can pull up the top search terms for cards in any given time frame (you can select any dates as you wish) and for selective sites like Google or Yahoo and other helpful info. It gives you an idea of what words people use to find cards for occasions.

Hope that's helpful. Smiley

When a client looks at a category of cards, the default is 'most popular' so they shouldn't see duplicate cards as often I believe.

Hi Pam,
Thanks for the tip. I've checked that out when I first joined onto GCU. I'm getting pretty good at keywords by now, but I do appreciate your help.

Best,
Laura

Hi Laura,

You're good.... it took me quite a while to find some of the helpful tools GCU has, hopefully it's useful info for others who may be reading this. Wink

On a side note I love this Halloween cat of yours http://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com/shopping/zoom.asp?pid=694781&w=1& ref=details_large_view
