Hi All! I was wondering if anyone experiences the frustration of determining what category best suits your cards, or am I just having a blonde moment? I recently received a card back for edit to put in a specific second category. The message looked fairly cryptic from the reviewer and from what I indicated, the card was already in that particular category. The second category was a little unclear. At this point I wish there was some way to communicate with the reviewer after I got it back again asking me to "please read the original notes." I'm wondering if time couldn't be saved if the reviewer put the card in the category he/she felt it fit best. Also would be great to have some sort of dialog with the reviewer. In the end, I just didn't feel it was worth going back and forth with a card that was just more of an art card than a specific message card so I deleted it.
I'm thinking the smoothest way to get cards through is to look at all the categories, choose one and design to that. Trying to make an "art" card seems to be where the frustration lies, at least with me.

Hi Laura,
Have you checked out Tom's videos yet? They really are a great source of answers for many questions, including which are the best categories for your cards. Click on the link below and scroll to the bottom of the page. The links to the videos are listed under "GCU University". Hope that helps!

Thank you for your kind, supportive reply. I will definitely check it out. Just need to wrap my brain around the biz of creating cards a little better!

Thanks again!

Yes, this is likely your best approach in creating targeted, occasion specific cards.

Also although "art cards" are a great way to highlight your work and are welcomed (best in the Collections >> Any Occasion / Blank Note Card category) occasion specific and cards with inside verses sell best.  Food for thought  Smiley

Thanks Mindy! Makes total sense. I have to switch gears mentally as I have other sites that showcase my art. I'll put my advertising art director hat on for the biz of making cards since advertising is what I did for so many years. I have to say that GCU is exceptional in the friendliness and support in forum responses from staff and artists alike.
