text inside card problems
Jan 20th, 2011, 4:20am

Hi Shaun,
I'm having problems inserting text inside new card. I hit "save", nothing appears, when I go back to the card, the text from a previous card appears.
When I go to "manage cards" the new text does appear, but when I click on it, the inside remains blanc undecided undecided
Thanks for looking into it, have a nice day Smiley
cheers,
barbara

Not for me, it has worked perfectly until now. How else can you put the verse in?
We are talking about when you are putting in a new verse, not the same as the previous one. It is not showing it. I cannot see how it looks with the chosen font, even after saving and going to manage cards.

I'm using windows xp and firefox also, and it had always worked for me too.
I'm encountering a lot of difficulties today, it takes ages to open "manage cards" or any other page or even GCU homepage. I'm on broadband.
cheers,

Well, Tom is correct in that this 'glitch' has been around awhile, though it is a rare to experience it and it seems that it does not happen to everyone at the same time  Grin

I've had times when I was uploading cards and had a very similar experience as you, if I logged back in 30 minutes or so later, it would be fine.

Thanks for bringing this up Barbara, I'm sure Shaun will look into it when he reads this.

We'll look into this and try to duplicate then fix the problem.

A work around for those that encounter this might be to log out of the site, close your browser then log back in.

Hi!

I use Windows Vista & Firefox.....when I want to CHANGE the inside text of any of my cards....I have to keep going back and saving it like 3 or 4 times for it to finally show the change!  A few times in the past IT NEVER DID CHANGE!  I thought everyone probably had to make changes that way!

I have a custom card order for 125 that has not been ordered because of this INNER VERSE bug.

The lady tells me she keeps trying to personalize the card but her changes do not "stick."

So I went in as a normal shopper and tried to personalize the card myself, thinking she was confused but

I was having the exact same problem !!!

It took me over 5 minutes to get it to "stick,"  much like I sometimes have to do when I am creating cards or editing the inner verse on a card.

I am sure a lot of cards are never purchased because of this bug that has been around for what seems like forever.  We artists notice it while creating a card, but it behaves the same exact flakey way when customers try to personalize a card.

OMG.  PRIORITY 1 ALERT!

It is not unique to this card either.  I use Vista/IE8 like a lot of people.

..................
And while I have your attention, she is having to go in and edit the inner verse because we artists are not allowed to edit the "Closing area," even on custom cards.

I would like to strongly suggest we be given full access to edit the entire inside on private cards.

This is not the first time I have had to coach a customer on how to edit or add things inside their custom  card, something they are expecting and paying me to do for them.  Not good for business.
 Thank you.

Yesterday I ordered a card to send to an Aunt and it took me 4 times of viewing and closing and opening and closing the preview to get the inside to show correctly.

If this is happening to our customers, it needs to be made a priority and corrected.

We're still testing and I'll report anything that we find but can you try the following?

Log out of your account then navigate to the card in question.  When you get to the card make sure that the url is www.greetingcarduniverse.com and not artist.greetingcarduniverse.com, then try to personalize the card.  If everything seems to work ok, remove the item from your cart and log back into your artist account and then locate the card again and try to personalize it.  Please let me know what happens when you try this.

Hello Shaun,

I did as you asked, and try as I might, with various edits of color, font, text changes, yada yada ... it all went smoothly under both domains.

You clearly and totally fixed it already, right???    Cool

AND WHILE TOM HAS YOUR ATTENTION... YES PLEASE, make it possible for the artists to have access to the entire inner card.  I recently lost a nice bulk order from a business because I could not put in photos for them (would have done a collage to use as one photo) and then their business log and tag line in closing section.   Angry  Not at all happy about this lost sale.   undecided undecided undecided

that would have been too easy  Cheesy

Nothing has changed on our end.  I thought this might have been an intermittent issue on the artist.greetingcarduniverse.com servers, as we haven't received any complaints from shoppers.  We'll keep testing.

When you sent the shopper a link to the card, do you know if you sent them to artist.greetingcarduniverse.com vs www.greetingcarduniverse.com?
