Hi Valerie.   So sorry to hear that happened.  I do not think there is any way here.  From how I understand it.. they do not keep any files we have uploaded except the actual cards in our stores..  They can not be given back to you from here only ordered-printed digitally.  Is GCU where you are wanting a copy from or do I misunderstand and your looking to pull them from your computer if possible still?

You could order one of every one of your cards that have the images you wish to obtain and then scan them so that you will again have them on your computer. Do you have a scanner? The quality might not be as good as the original that you had on your computer but it would be better than not having them at all. I do not know of any other way. Maybe Mindy can help you with this question better than I can. I hope everthing works out for you.

Hi Valerie!
If it can not be done otherwise - You could made copies of your original cards so that you "copy and paste" "GCU large view" of them into Photoshop or other similar program. The quality might not be as good as the original but in my opinion this is "the best second best" solution - if it can not be done otherwise.

Are you sure you won't be able to retrieve your files from your computer?
I have been able to recover a large number of my files from a formatted hard drive. It depends on the kind of damage to your computer's hard drive.

It's not a stupid question...you should have a tech person look at your hard drive and determine if the files actually are there somewhere. I've had quite a bit of data pulled off that we though was gone.
However, this points out a very important facet of design and life in general: Back Up Your Work, your precious photos and any other important documents onto CDs or an External HD or both. It goes w/o saying that computers break or get viruses. Or your hard drive simply fills up with data & becomes slow and inefficient.
CDs or DVDs are relatively inexpensive and fairly reliable. 1 Terabyte external HDs are fairly inexpensive (about $125) and reliable (though I put info on CDs also). There are also services online where you can back up your HD for a fee per month - like a storage facility for your data instead of your old clothes and christmas decorations.
As a graphic designer with many customers and years of work it's super important that everything's backed up & organized all the time.
I'd be broken hearted if all my photos were completely lost. It would be like losing years of my life The art work for the most part wouldn't be terrible - I'd mostly be able to rescan or rephoto - it's be a lot of work, but doable.
Hope you can get your "life" back.
