Reviewer Recommendations
Jan 2nd, 2011, 7:05am

#742518 returned for edits along with it's three partners. I hit resubmit on this one accidentally though I have been known to resubmit without changes.  Wink

The recommendation was to consider resubmitting under category "getting older". Rarely do I do a series type...(i.e. same image, Happy Birthday age one, age two, etc.)  This time, I did a for her, for him type thing and an ethnic version for each. Yes, the inside refers to maturity level or lack thereof (covered by the humor category) but really I was aiming at a gender based keywording on images of cartoon male and female on front. In this case, I think they would be better served in the "for her, for him" categories. In my scenario, you have four different targeted options: man, woman, man ethnic, woman ethnic that the shopper may find when searching. In your scenario, I have four cards lumped into one which in theory, a customer comes in, sees wrong gender on front and carries on elsewhere since they won't "travel in a pack" and be seen side by side necessarily.

Does that make sense? It's early for me and I'm actually in the middle of something else today but didn't want to delay these cards any longer than already done. Since there is no longer a way to relay this to you on resubmit, sticking it here. Do whatever...but just do it for me so we're not dragging this out days and days, please.

Just wanted to suggest a couple things Colleen...

You might get a speedier response, putting this in an email back to the reviewer.

Also, my understanding of the 'For Her' and 'For Him' categories is that they (as all cards) have to be specific to that category.  So just be sure that your imagery and/or text is VERY specific to fit those 2 categories.

I too, would heed the reviewer's advice and create a version which fits the "getting older category", but that's me.  Remember the reviewers have more experience than we do about the categories.

Just food for thought!

I know about the reviewer email but I was unable to use my personal email system at the time I posted...different computer.   (Did I ever say I hate, hate the slew of approved, denied email and the wait after resubmit...I do.  Take that number of emails then multiply for different companies.) It's just easier for me to "talk" via forum.  One place, opinion stated, no response really needed.  If I really want them private, I know how to find them. Plus, I like transparency. I've learned more in various forums from other's issues than I ever had in a back and forth email canned response type note to and from any company. I share my denials in good faith.  Grin

Like I said, there are images of cartoon male and female on front so "for her" and "for him" certainly fit image wise. I don't think their point was to have me "create" a version, they simply wanted it changed to "getting older". I surely don't want a slew of the same cards. 4 similar ones were generally over my norm. I know some do large series and it works for them so no harm intended in my opinion.  I just know that when I shop online I personally skip over any large group of all the same card with nary a backwards glance...but that's just me. I think in this case, with only 4 and different keywords/categories regarding gender, my category choice is going to target more people.  But really, that's neither here nor there.

The reviewers are great but I will beg to differ from time to time as it's for the most part, subjective and I've got my experience and opinion too after enough years here and there  Grin.  Incidentally, it's not really a "please consider" note in the returned for edit email if I cannot disagree.  Tongue  I consider it, often change it and if I really disagree with reviewer, which is rare, I usually call it a draw and leave the card to languish in pending.  No biggie. I did however hit the resubmit by accident and I disagree just a little which is why i was leaving a post originally.
