Artist Facebook Page Help Please
Dec 2nd, 2010, 7:46pm

Hi all was hoping someone out there might be able to help me out.

I have just started a Facebook Page which is not my own personal profile.

Today I was lucky enough to receive an email saying I have made a sale and wanted to share this so clicked the share on Facebook button. Unfortunately this appears to want to post to my personal profile and not my artist Page.

I can't seem to figure out if it is some setting I need to change or weather it is with Facebook or GCU that I need to make the change.

Hope I have put this question in the right forum topic.

Thanks
Deborah

Hi Deborah! I'm guessing you created a fan page. I have run into this same problem. you are logged into facebook with your personal account (the only way to do it, right?) so your post go to that account. you need to copy the web address of the card you want displayed and paste in in the post section of your fan page. It will recognize it as a link and show a preview of the card. then you can erase the address and say thanks to the state your card was purchased in or brag that you sold a card or whatever you want to do. Wink

Hi Deborah,

I have the same issue.  I have a FB page that I started long ago before I knew about Fan pages, so I have both.  GCU FB Share Button will automatically post to your personal account.  Rod is correct.  The best way to grab that link is from the Sell This Card button under the thumb of the card in your store.

Be sure you are logged in to GCU so your referral code is included in the code.
Type the PID from the email of the card you sold into the GCU page search.
Click on the $ icon under the image thumbnail
Copy the TEXT link code (top box) and paste that into the Link area of FB.

Walla...

BTW...I just let GCU post my sales to my personal page and then I use the above method to post sales from my other sites on my Fan page.  That way both pages are sharing goodies, but not the same goodies to a variety of people.

Thank you Rod and Doreen

After a little trial and error and several re-reads I did manage to post my sale on my Fan page so again thank you very much.

When I was trying to figure out how to do this and searching options, it was nice to know that GCU have such a great community of Artists and Staff that I felt sure I would find help here. It is really nice to have this wealth of knowledge available and I thank everyone for their help, support and guidance.

Thank you, Rod.
I will try this method. I have exactly the same trouble as Deborah.
