Will this ever change?
Nov 30th, 2010, 3:28pm

I was searching for a holiday card with a Yorkshire Terrier. But after typing in "Yorkshire Holiday" I had to wade through dozens of name-specific Halloween cards featuring a Yorkshire Terrier. Happy Halloween, Allison.
Happy Halloween, Andy. Happy Halloween, Ashley. You get the idea.

This must be just as frustrating for shoppers out there in cyberspace. It's a common complaint, but one that has never been remedied. This site is run by some pretty savvy people. Surely, there must be a better way.

Thanks.

You know, you'll probably get better results putting your search into Google than right on the GCU site. . . usually, not always, but it most likely will bypass all the multiples of names.   'e'

I am one of those who have posted my frustrations on this subject recently, so I feel your pain  Grin

I found that if you go to a more specific category and search within that category you get rid of those types of cards.

I just tried this on your search so try this...

Go to Holidays >> Christmas >> Animals/Pets >> Dogs

then type in Yorkshire and check the box Search This Category

Those name cards are not included in that search

Hope this helps!

That IS frustrating!

In the meantime ... check out the first page of my private gallery.

And check these pix - if you'd like any put on a card in my PG, I'll be happy to do that!

We have no plans at this time of tinkering to change this, sorry Sad

You will also see as a logical remedy to modify your search terms from Yorkshire Holiday to Yorkshire Holiday Christmas to narrow your results even more:

I would guess that the "offending" designs appropriately have "Yorkshire Terrier" in the keywords, so it will come up for any "Yorkshire" search. Personally I would search for "Christmas Yorkshire Terrier" if I wanted a Christmas card with a Yorkshire Terrier on, as "Holidays" will also bring up Halloween etc as you found out.
