Thanks everyone for your input.

I have come to the conclusion I am better off not putting anything in the notes to reviewer. That way when they decide to question me at least I am not going to feel like they are calling me a liar as I did this time.

I still have no idea how I am supposed to "prove" I own the images I make with my programs or the photos I take.

If anyone has any ideas on that I would appreciate you sharing. I don't have the money to afford a huge storage space so have not been keeping my "files" as I make my images, I have only saved them as finished products and so have no real way to prove they are mine. undecided

I'm so sorry you are going through this Selina, but we all have similar stories at some time on one sight or another.  I can't imagine not saving my original files so I'm not sure I can offer any great help in that area.

However, just in case you didn't know, you can get a Western Digital External Hard Drive which plugs in via USB on your computer for under $100 depending on the amount of space you need.  I recommend the Western Digitals because I've used these external drives for many, many years.  One of my WD drives is over 12-years old and still works perfectly...of course at that time they were $1000 dollars  Grin

I just thought I'd pass this info along in case you didn't know that for $69 and free shipping you can get one of these drives with 1 Terabyte of storage.  Here is a link to Amazon in case you or anyone out there is interested.  These are GREAT storage devices and very affordable considering how much they store and how long they last.

HoHoHo!

I'm so sorry this is difficult for you!  I learned early on to save the files I purchase, along with a copy of TOS for use ... just in case.  That's a GREAT price for a WD Terabyte drive, too!  WOW!

These are sooooo great!  I couldn't have brought my beloved old Mac into the 21st Century without a place to store all that "stuff."  I have images saved from 13 years ago and glad I did, date stamped in "image info" in photoshop.  That's certainly one way to prove you created an image if need be!  'e'

Thank you Doreen, I will purchase one and have it sent when I get my next paycheck. Really appreciate that.

I started doing this just as a part time hobby, nothing serious and without the expectation of sales, more just to see what would happen and to see if my work was "good enough" to sell.

I was surprised when I stated making sales, not many still today, at least not online but I purchase them myself and sell them in local stores and I do quite well that way. As i never thought I would do as well as I have it never occured to me to keep the files as I was making the images. I most certainly will be from now on.

I picked up a 2 TB  (yes> I said TWO Terabytes) for $89.00 plus free s/h on Black Friday.  It is UPS-ing to my home address as I type this..  A Seagate brand which I have a few of and like very much..  Like my WD's too..  Like them all.. This one is a nice petite size and sits up or side ways.  Takes both 2.0 & 3.0 B-port attachments..  and.. love that auto back up every night on selected items..  Hahahaha.  So excited.    I just love my gadgets.  All of them..    Also grabbed some 8 GB Jump-sticks for $9.00 per.. I have done better than that in the past but..  happy with the price still and also free s/h on those too..   Ah yes..  gadgets rock~  just sharing.  Smiley

p.s.  Selina>  the Jump sticks would be a good option for you till you get a larger bk-up drive..  Also. You can always do your bk-ups on CD or DVD till later too..   Cool

Hi Selina,
Depending on which graphics program you are using you will be able to find lots of information from your image file, even if you do not have the original file. Depending on your camera setting you can embed a lot of info into the file but at the very lest you should have camera make, date and camera settings. I use Photoshop but if you use a different program I am sure that someone on GCU will be able to tell you how to get at the info. I am not on my home computer at the moment but will post the path for Photoshop later if someone has not already done so.
