The "candles on the cake give it away" Category

"Resubmit Notes: Please do not resubmit this card without adding 'Birthday' specific text to either card front or as inner verse. Thank you." Why yes, I AM the smarta$$ who resubmitted without adding YOUR text and Thank YOU.

Visual: it is a tiered pastel cake on a blue background with stars and confetti in corners and candles burning on top of cake.
OutsideText: "Celebrate" on one card/ "From all of us" on the other similar submission
Inside text "May all your wishes come true".

As we seem to not have a whole lot of international buyers that I've seen, I think most can figure out on this continent that it's a birthday card and they are wishes on the candles (keyword here is candles...not little people, etc. perched on top of said big colorful cake.

Sorry to every now and then chime in here on this subject. No response needed or requested, mind you. It just annoys the daylights out of me for a brief moment (as I glance at the 30some odd emails blasting me) so consider me grumbling to myself. I made it that way and I knew I made it that way...and I chose to take the chance you would not approve or maybe I'd get the other reviewer...whatever.    It's like the old "Hi you're a Lesbian and Getting Married ....Good for you" card argument or the "Happy Birthday to my Husband's Third Cousin Once Removed" category.  Sometimes subtle works...really.

Seriously, you don't know how many actual good verses I've discarded (why yes, I can write them at times) because I can't for the life of me find the right category in that dropdown matured extravaganza box. "Wait,wait...I found it...oh crap, another submenu I did not notice as it was off the bottom of my screen...nevermind...happy birthday general....delete text...there, all done....submit"

carry on...nothing to see here...crazy woman grumbling in corner...

Colleen,
I enjoyed reading your forum this morning. Although I'm sorry that you had a problem. I can relate. My confusion on a card they rejected was that the reviewer thought my artist's notes was the INSIDE VERSE. It's true. I won't jeopardize my getting cards approved by saying something nasty, but I do wonder sometimes about them.  Shocked

I agree that sometimes a simple card is more elegant without all of the wording. If the visual gets the message across, why not? I think it's the artist's call.

Love your cards, by the way. Take care, Gail

"Product Id: 713412
Status: Returned for Edits
Resubmit Notes: Please do not resubmit this card without making corrections we have asked you to make. Thank you."

This one apparently happened beforehand and I missed it. I actually was not being a smarta$$ on this one and I thought I fixed that one to their liking... I had to dig through deleted emails to find what they asked originally. Oops, I only did one part of it. Would be lovely if there was a reference to earlier email in the scolding one if at all possible as they come one by one by one....very difficult to search back as in general, I receive about 100 emails a day, give or take.

Thank you Gail  Grin
edit: oh, and the autumn friend one, I fixed but I guess it will maybe work for next autumn as the trees were in high color when I submitted...not so much now.

we will have someone re-review these.  thanks for your patience.

there are artists that have submitted somewhat general "cakes & candles" and tried to shoe horn them into multiple categories ie: birthday, retirement, anniversary, graduation, etc.  Thus I suspect the reviewer's request.
