Great Quality!!

I just want to thank GCU for a superb job on the printing of my card order. This is the first time I have ordered my cards and I'm super impressed with the printing quality. As an art director in the ad biz for years, I have seen some pretty bad printing. I also love the stock they're printed on. Keep up the great work, GCU!!!!! And thanks for a really fast turn around!

I wanted to chime in and say, I agree, as I was again very happy with the way my images came out on the cards. I had placed an order with another company I work with for the same cards a month ago and the cards I received were too dark and fuzzy, out of focus almost. These were for a friend that allowed me to use her dog as a model and I didn't like the quality of the cards so I never gave them to her. I ordered the same exact cards from GCU and my card images are sharp and the colors look as they do on my store. I gave these to my friend yesterday and she was sooo happy, she was showing them to everyone. Also a thumbs up to GCU on how quickly these are shipped out, I placed my order on the 15th and received the cards on the 17th at lunchtime!

Mindy, I just received my card order. The printing quality is beautiful as usual but there is a problem! If the printer is just down the road you need to inspect every printing station. I have the same problem others have had. The logo is cut off and the borders are way off because of the placement of the artwork. All cards printed are consistantly off! Some of the operators machinery must be calibrated wrong. This would be a quick fix to get the quality back up to GCUs usual standard of High Quality. Be sure to take an example of a card that has been printed just the way it should. Printers are sometimes pretty bull headed when you try to tell them they need to change something. :-D you have to have a visual example. Norval

PS..... there is a faint odor, but acceptable.

my order came today... ( i posted this in the artist only part but since this is being discussed here too..)

the horizontal one is okay...not exactly right color wise but it will do.

on the vertical one,which i ordered for myself because i loved the color.... the color is off, the image has been cropped - more than usual, artist credits falling off the bottom, fold is straight but quite overlapped. i just don't understand the inconsistencies.

as for the color i have asked repeatedly what color profile is used, i don't get an answer. everywhere else i order from the colors are spot on, so i don't understand what is different about GCU. a deep rich cobalt blue should not come out pale grape purple. as near a match as i can make in photoshop as to the purple color, laid over top the original file.

i have some coming from the other place this weekend, i will be able to tell then how close things are, but the last i got from them were great color wise. also had mini art prints done this week and greeting cards to sell locally from two other printers...perfect color reproduction. its not my monitor, otherwise i would be seeing more color shifts from my printing elsewhere.

i have had the best month ever here and several bulk sales... i am worried as to which they will receive the pretty close to but not perfect or the way far off the mark.

I do love threads that start with Great Quality! Seems we've still got some issues, though.

Denise- I'm working with GCU right now about color issues to ensure I make a correct response to your color issue. I do apologize for the the delay and I expect to get back to you later today.

Norval- I'm glad you're happy with the color reproduction, but I understand you're concerned about the trimming. We are working with GCU on the tolerances, especially with the positioning of the artist's icon on the back of the card which has been mentioned in the forums several times. I am more concerned about the borders being way off. Can you give me the order number or card number off the back so that we can take a look?
