Yes, it's gotten longer & longer & longer.......
I'm a children's book illustrator and enjoy offering my art as cards for fun but it's getting ridiculous. I submitted a Holiday image over two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for approval.
 It's getting a little irksome
I don't submit cards very often and didn't realize that things had changed

Agreed...approval times need to be improved.  If GCU wants to stay competitive, and I am sure they do, this issue must be moved from the "back burner" to the front burner...by now it should be getting hot in the  kitchen as it has been a hot topic now for YEARS.
I am gravitating to other sites because of #1 approval time
                                                            #2 diversity of products
#3 ease of up load process

I LOVE GCU...the forum can't be beat, but that is not going to keep me here uploading...exposure, guality, and diversity of products will.

My vision isn't always in sync with GCU...

I cringed at the thought of "recruting" artists via videos.

I cringed, no gagged, when the flat 50 cents per card went to a percentage (dispite the overwhelming voice of gcu artists NOT in favor [if memory serves]).

I really don't think that time ESPECIALLY spent during the BUSIEST selling time of the year needs to be spent on "Up Dating the Home Page"...dedicate that time to approving cards, looking into International shipping alternatives, all the issues we have been harping on for years...that back burner must have burnt out a couple of pots by now...

I consider GCU my "home" POD.  Love the forum, the support.  GCU was my first start in this arena, and I am grateful for all it has given me.  Getting a tad tough though... cry

I really feel like we are losing many new artists because the approval process is taking soooo long. I submit photos to shutterstock, which is, in my opinion, one of the hardests sites to recieve approval on. It only takes a few days, even with the millions of photos they recieve. I submitted cards over two weeks ago and they are not approved yet. I understand about planning ahead...and I do, but this is really getting to be ridiculous. It seems like an administrator issue for sure.

Just so you know, the international rates were updated a few weeks ago.

Your approval time is longer than it has ever been before.  I am losing money as my Christmas cards have not been approved yet and so are you!! cry

this truly is one area that has increasingly become a worst nightmare for the artist here. Add to that 14 cents a card sales at our busiest season. That makes our work more intense, and our profit at least 1/2 of what it was last year at this season. It makes us think, where can I have a sales response immediately instead of waiting almost a month later sometimes before a customer can even see my work.
We all have continued to say how much we love GCU, and if we are listened to they know this is true because we are still here. Growing pains are hurting all of us here. on just these two points.
We all are at the point where we love this site, we love the product. We prefer to sell here because of the quality, but I have customers who will take second choice and order from my Australia site without a choice of wording inside because my art is up there as soon as I place it online and they have it before they even see it here.
We need to make money also. After all a great community doesn't buy milk.
Continuing to strive for the best attitude and Christmas spirit!
Sincerely felt,
Sandy

I feel GCU has really gone downhill.  I can get faster and better quality prints of my cards elsewhere without waiting ages for approvals so I can buy them and then only getting 14 cents a card when sold to someone else.  I know these other sites also have lots of junk on them but at least the print quality of a glossy card is awesome without cracking, peeling, or stinking.

Just a note, the bulk sale commissions from the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend were not 28 cents!!!  They were rediculously low.   cry
