New GCU Tagline Ideas

We are in the process of refreshing the website with a new look and color palette to be more appealing and contemporary . We will be introducing this in stages starting before the end of the year. We think you're going to love it!

Along with the site design will come a new logo and tagline. Although "Connecting Artists & Card Buyers" has served us well we feel it is time for a change to something more consumer oriented.

We're interested in your feedback and suggestions on the tagline. It should be short (the shorter the better to fit under in our logo), simple and say a lot without saying too much Wink

So put your creative caps on and let us know what you think.

Here are some of the front runners in order of most preferred:

the art of cards
a world of cards
we have a card for that
cards. art. happy.
every occasion and more

Glad to hear you folks in the big office are inspired for a new look...that's always fun for everyone!

The Art of Cards really has been used to death over the years so that would not be on my list. Since this will accompany the GCU logo as it does now and card is already in Greeting Card Universe, for me it does not need to be there.

Here is my quick contribution, if I think of anything later that might really be worth considering I'll post it Grin

The only reason I like the old "connecting artists & card buyers" is that it says that we are individual artists outside of GCU... but then I don't know if many customers paid that much attention to the phrase anyway...but changing the phrase... how will the customers know we operate outside of GCU? Seems that is already a struggle.

I don't mind the idea of changing it but .............

we have a card for that
It's short, sweet, and to the point. And speaks to the shoppers' needs: I need a card for __________. We have a card for that!

Also makes for good tweets:

Looking for a thank you card for your child's school bus drive? We have a card for that!
Looking for a encouragement card for a friend who's going through a divorce? We have a card for that!
With a URL shortener, all under 140 characters. Which also makes for great blog, Squidoo, etc titles.

As usual, our artists prove to be a great resource

Just a quick emphasis on Mindy's comment "the shorter the better". For the most part the tag line can't be much longer than Mindy's examples. Her 3rd and 5th examples are almost too long. Basically 3 or 4 words depending on the length of the words.

I also think that "We have a card for that" is brilliant. It covers every contingency and is very catchy. The tweets that Pattiann mentioned could even be reworded to leave out "card" in the beginning, as it would come up in the second half, i.e. "Want to thank your child's school bus driver? We have a card for that!"

Agree that "art of cards" is way past its expiration date. "World" clashes with Universe, which is bigger...
"Happy" is often not the case. (The customer may be satisfied, but the occasion is sometimes a sad one. We do have lots of cards for that.) I also feel that "and more" is tacked onto slogans much too frequently.

Designed with you in mind is what I've come up with at the moment, but I really, really like the above mentioned.
