I would like to make a suggestion during the selecting a category process of submitting a new card. Something similar was added to a stock site I use and it was very helpful during the submission process. I'm not sure this will help on every category GCU offers, but it may be worth it to use on the ones it will. My hope by this suggestion is to help both artists make the right selection upfront and cut down the emails by reviewers for resubmits. Then perhaps we can speed up and move the review process along more quickly.
For those categories that we can only select one "specific" choice for a card, could we have a little pop up box come up that states this to the artist. THIS IS THE ONLY CATEGORY UNDER BIRTHDAY THAT CAN BE SELECTED BECAUSE IT IS A SPECIFIC CARD! By this showing during the submission process it will help artists to make the correct choice. This little pop up won't slow down the artists whom already know they can only make one "specific" choice, but it will be there for those who need the reminder.
EXAMPLE 1:
Let's say, I have a, "Happy Birthday Mom" card and am posting it in the Birthday-Relationship Specific-Mother category. I select this category and then a little pop up box comes up that states, THIS IS THE ONLY CATEGORY UNDER "BIRTHDAY" THAT CAN BE SELECTED BECAUSE IT IS A SPECIFIC CARD!
EXAMPLE 2:
Let's say, I made a card that says, "Happy Birthday Mom on your 50th Birthday.
Artists may be unsure if they can put it in Birthday-Age Specific AND Birthday-Mom-Age Specific.
* So let's say the artist selects Birthday-Relationship Specific-Mother-Age Specific which is the correct choice. Once that category is selected a pop up box would come up and say something like, THIS IS THE ONLY CATEGORY UNDER "BIRTHDAY" THAT CAN BE SELECTED BECAUSE IT IS A SPECIFIC CARD TO MOTHER!
* Next the artist may think it is okay to put the card in a second category, such as, Birthday-Age Specific (which is the wrong category). So if they select this category a pop up box would state, "IF CARD IS FOR FRIEND-PARENT-FAMILY RELATIONS AND AGE SPECIFIC, IT DOESN'T GO HERE!
I hope you get the idea. This idea wouldn't work for all categories, but may start to weed down some of the problem areas that arise during the category selection process. It will hopefully cut down the resubmits from reviewers.
Just a thought. What do you think?
