card keyword removed
Oct 18th, 2010, 10:00am

This card was approved but keyword friend was removed cause they say it doesn't apply or is not something or other.   Hmmm curious...   700140

I don't know how to link it here.

Sally,
Linking to the forum is a piece of cake.
1)Go to your store,
2)click on the card you want to display
3)copy and paste to url into the forum.

Sally, here is the link for the card

http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/shopping/cb.asp?keyword=700140&button.x= 29&button.y=19

It doesn't make sense to me why 'friend' was eliminated from the keywords given what you had written on the inside of the card.

Well, that is a conundrum isn't it  Grin

If it were me, I would reply back to the same email and inquire as to why saying Good Friend on the inside does not allow the word friend in the keyword...although you haven't told us what category(s) it was approved for.  If it is NOT in a holiday card for friend category, then that is probably why.

Hi Sally!

This has happened to me too!  I was told by the reviewer that the card had to have that specific word on the front!  I had mine on the inside too......but it was sent back, and I was told to choose another category or add the word to the front of the card!

Doubt that makes you feel any better though!

Hi Sally Smiley
I love your card
Being on GCU is training me to think differently and I am learning to be very literal in regard to my cards. I ask myself does it directly reference friend on the front or am I suggesting what it could be used for.
Is your card appropriate for a friend, I think so, but I guess GCU views it as if someone is looking for a card for a friend they want friend on the front.
I think it's worth an email clarification to the review team.

Also you don't have Christmas in your keywords? Was that nixed too? Huh

And Judith...your cards were so worth waiting for, great cards

Pamela,
I've been under the impression that when a card is put into a category, i.e., Christmas>Whatever, that the [major/primary] category selection serves as a keyword...am I mistaken?  On my Christmas cards, I add Xmas as a keyword, but not Christmas..........hmmmmmmmmmmm.........guess I need to take a refresher course in tagging..........or at least revisit the info

Hi Linda,

Well I can see it would certainly help for GCU searches...but I don't recall if it serves for search engine searches. I was under the impression that what you put in your keywords and Title are what the search engines 'search' undecided

Doreen, If you are there kiss am I right in my assumption re the search engines?

Sorry Pamela...out all day  lips sealed

I believe you are correct.  A good solid Title which makes sense such as; For Dad at Christmas Reindeer with Santa and then keywords with Xmas with both Title and Keywords being picked up by search engines.

Now, let me also state that I always include who its for and the event in my keywords as well as my Title...for what it's worth  Grin
