Hi again Donna,

Don't worry, many of us have been 'pushy' about this very subject.  There are threads and threads on the length of review times and our frustration...it doesn't change.  Since in effect we are licensing our work to GCU for the fee of 15% of each card sale, we simply don't know all that is going on behind the scenes, nor should we.  We are not under an exclusive contract and therefore GCU should be looked at as one of perhaps many ways we sell our work.

I'm afraid you just won't get better answers than you have received from us on this thread.  I hate to coin a phrase, but 'It is what it is'.

well that's good news...

And not for anything... I very much appreciate the fact that I can feel comfy enough to say what's on my mind and not be trounced on for stating my opinions.

So, THANK YOU ALL who have been kind and patient enough to offer insight into this newbie's ignorance.

I would like to add that I have work on Zazzle and Red Bubble, all instantly available to the public.

However, I have never made a sale on Zazzle and only two sales on Red Bubble. In spite of the long review times on GCU, I have sold 241 cards here. Not many in comparison to some people, but it took a while to build up my store, so my sales have all been in the last few months.

I am happy to say that one design I've been waiting two weeks for to get approval here was posted elsewhere and 50 copies sold last night.

Now, I do appreciate the fact that GCU does a lot of footwork to maximize sales and I've made over 200 card sales to date and I am grateful for that.  But really - can someone better educate newbies on this process?  I think it would take a lot of the frustration out of the waiting game.  If I had any idea that it's best to prepare 3-6 months in advance, I most certainly would have organized myself to think in those time frames.

I've read through on suggestion from one of the reviewers to read the GCU wiki for information but it is really lacking.  For one, it does say typical reviews are done within 7 days.  We're up to 2 weeks or better.  Yes, I do understand the numbers have increased.  But, it doesn't fix the review bottleneck and with more and more cards and artists coming in - it's a battle to 'get out there'.  I'd love to see more information posted on the wiki to help new artists and maybe we'd newbies would better understand the process to 'get out there' in a timely fashion.

And this isn't to say that Nature won't allow me to capture some new inspiration that I want on a card for this year... wink wink...

Again, my many thanks for the added information from fellow artists.  Your expertise is much appreciated.
