Year of the Tiger???
Oct 15th, 2010, 5:26pm

Hi all,
Received email today that our Year of the Tiger 2010 card needed to be edited and resubmitted.  This is still the Year of the Tiger right??  We went to resubmit, but there is not a category for the Year of the Tiger beyond 2010.  We would love to edit and resubmit, but the category does not exist.  There seems to be a lot of the 2010 Year of the Tiger cards still available for purchase.  Shouldn't they all be taken down.  Why just ours.  What to do?

That's because they took it down.  They must have completed a search for "2010" and taken some down.  Another thread (by Rita) had a Christmas 2010 card taken down and was told to update it.  A computer glitch perhaps.  undecided

Did they give a clue as to what was wrong with it?

The email said they were cleaning house.  We went to edit and resubmit but there is not a category for Year of the Tiger beyond 2010. Huh

Must be because this round (2011) it will be "Year of the Rabbit" and they figure people will be buying those more than searching through 2010 cards for 2011 cards.  Only 1o weeks left of 2010.. Hard to believe.  For me the year really flew by.       Anyway..  I am so pleased to see they-we are weeding things out.   I too got an e-m last week for "Girl's Night Out".. Should be Girls' Night Out  as it is now being done in that category.  Everyone was asked to update them.  Lets our new submissions rise quicker.  Good housekeeping!   Smiley

The Year of the Tiger lasts until February 2, 2011.  We have no problem with changing the card, we just need a category to place it in.  The current category on GCU is Chinese New Year--Year of the Tiger 2010.

Hey Jay,

I agree that the 'year of the tiger' is not over yet!  I find it curious that they are removing those cards before 2010 is over, let alone the official Chinese New Year time frame.

The next year of the tiger I guess is like 2022 so if it was me, I think I would discuss with the reviewers why the card can not stay until the 'event' is officially over and go create 2011 Year of the Rabbit.  Our Year of the Tiger cards after 2/2011 will not likely fit anywhere on GCU for many years Grin

Just my thoughts!

Here's an idea. After the year changes over to the rabbit, those old cards might be edited to reflect a birthday in year of the tiger 2010.
