Thanks Shaun...that explains it.  The notification said that the order was shipped on the 16th, so if they did not get the regular printer on line until the 17th that is what happened to this order.  Thank you for re-ordering the card for me.  I will assume, unless you tell me otherwise, that you no longer need me to send the card back since you are aware of the issue and it is resolved.
Thanks again for your quick attention and I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that good card quality has been restored.
Kathy

No need to send it back Kathy unless the reprint has issues, I'm having one sent here to our office as well.

May I send mine back too ?  My first order contained some disappointments too, but it was made a couple of weeks earlier than my last order.   It was my first order, so I didn't have anything to compare with, but several are very washed out.  I thought that my problem my have come from the fact that my work is done with colored pencil, pastel and watercolor combined with the fact that I have a very light touch.  I did notice that the ones that were a glossy finish looked much better.

Thanks !

Shaun,
On the subject of printing Smiley

I thought RGB=web/monitor color and CMYK=print

Is the printer converting to CMYK to print?
or is their printer able to reproduce RGB colors close to the range we see on screen?

I try to design so that if they print in CMYK there won't be much of a color shift, but it does often make for a duller product than one sees onscreen, yet there are fewer surprises at print time!
Any info would be helpful to all of us artists to assist us in providing a quality print product. Denise had asked print questions recently, I don't recall seeing an answer Huh
Also is there a printer profile available to assist in proofing?

Pamela

i have asked about this and never got an answer as to the color profile used.  my last batch looked dull and darker, not sure why it wasn't in the time frame of the printer issues.  i have a new monitor i hope is more reliable but i still don't know the color profile used by the printer gcu uses.
