I just received my 11 order (printed 9/14) from new printer and they are perfect.
We carefully examined each card and there were NO flaws.
 Perfect color, clean cut edges, perfect folds and cuts. Perfect,  Just like the first 8 orders.
 
So they are apparently back on track with excellent printing and Sept 9 & 10 were just bad days
Unfortunately I have 54 cards that are wrong that hopefully will be replaced by GCU
 
The color variation issue is minor, but GCU cards must not have crocked folds- Thats something Quality control should see and stop.   Sometime printing goes bad- but bad folds are easily detect and a better procedure must be implemented.  
 
I can bundle up the rest of 2 bad orders and I can send back to GCU
I already sent 4 good and 4 bad cards as samples with clearly identified issues via overnight delivery

 We had a meeting today with our print partner and I showed them the cards that you had sent back.  It turns out that they were having power issues with their printers late last week and early this week and were using a backup to fulfill their jobs.  
 
Due to the quick change to the backup, there may have been a day or two were the backup was not calibrated exactly the same way as their regular printers.  Since your most recent order printed correctly, it would appear as though any issues with the backups have been corrected, as they don't expect to have the regular printers back online until later today.      
 
They were not at all pleased with the fold issues that you encountered and have ensured us that this will not happen again, as the end product was unacceptable.  
 
Thanks for all your help here David, if you can provide the order ids for the 2 orders that did not print correctly we can go ahead and reprint them free of charge,  I can also give you free card credits to make up for the cost to ship the cards back to us.

So good to see you follow through on this issue and to find that there was actually a REASON for what happened with David's cards.  It's nice to hear that you guys ARE on top of things.  I've been quite happy with what samples I've ordered and it's to our benefit that there are some store owners that DO order frequently to monitor the quality of the printer partner.

Is GCU considering contacting ALL customers whose orders were printed on the 9th and 10th? Every customer should be able to return their order for replacement. These printer errors make all artists and GCU look unprofessional.  embarrassed  If I wasn't a member and had ordered and received poor cards, I would never consider shopping here again.

We are not considering contacting all customers, as we have not received any complaints about this issue outside of the handful that were posted on the forum.  We'd be happy to replace cards for any customer that contacts us about this issue though.

I just received a small order of my cards, and the colors are quite off and muddy. I have ordered my cards before, and the colors were much better and crisper. I was happy and quite proud of the quality. I am disappointed this time and I 'd like to return them. Unfortunately I'd need to use one of the cards this weekend. Is there anything else you'd need when I return the cards.
 
If this is the quality of the new printing process, I wouldn't want to let people see how poorly these cards look. Is there any sign of improving the current color printing in the near future?

I believe you may have talked to KC this morning and she gave you card credits for this order.  I'm going to also resend your cards free of charge.  It looks like you placed your order on the 15th which means that it was during a period of time when our fulfillment partner was using a backup printer.  I talked to our fulfillment partner this morning and they confirmed that everything is now back to normal.  
 
My apologies for the inconvenience.

Just to wrap this thread up
 
The printer is back to GREAT printing  
and we have received orders printed on 9/16 & 9/20 that were back to the GCU's normal perfect.  
Well done printer , keep this up !!

Received the cards you replaced today.  They look great!  Looks like the printer is back to great printing now.  Hope there won't be any more power issues with the printers.

I too received a card that I made and sent to my hubby for his birthday yesterday.  Not only did it arrive on time, but the fold could not have been more perfect and the color and printing quality was superb!
