Sorry to hear you lost your Dad, I lost mine a few years ago.
 
Not sure if something here has been lost in translation.  Funeral cards?  Funeral i.e. burial usually takes place within two weeks of death, condolance cards are also usually sent around the time of death?
 
Although of course I live in the UK, there may be different customs in other countries.  i.e. in Mexico it may be appropriate on the Day of the Dead?
