Photoshop Fonts And Windows
Jul 17th, 2010, 10:20am

Hello

Just a small tip as I was poddling around today cleaning my system

As we know Photoshop only comes with a basic set of fonts, and you can donload thousands
of royalty free ones, and placing them in windows - fonts, but steadily it will grow and grow,
the system gets a bit idle eventually etc and all that... and you want all your photoshop fonts
nice and neat in one place and all your windows system fonts different in their original place.

You can do this instead as photoshop has already set it up for you:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts

The good thing about it is that you can keep your font collection to above 1000 like I am, and not have to sacrifice preformance by installing them into the Windows FONTS directory. The only  lips sealed BAD Shocked thing is that Photoshop takes a lot longer to load. But you might be really organised and it would work
better for you... it works on all 5.0 - cs5

Hope it is of some help

Hugs Moonie

Nan,

On mac you can add new fonts to mac font book and they will show up in photoshop and all cs applications.

Once downloaded, open font book and add.

Hope that helps,
Kati
