Card collections
May 12th, 2010, 9:37pm

Hi there,

As a newcomer, enjoying the site and work of many talented artists, may I make a suggestion to the technical people to help artists set out there store fronts to maximise the categories they specialise in.

Is there a way we could organise our cards on our individual sites into groups or collections such as all our Happy birthday cards in one box, or all our get well soon cards?  Aternatively groups organised into flowers or insects or sunsets etc., with our best card on the front so that people browsing our sites looking for a specific card can go straight to that box and click to open and view just those cards and not have to trawl through the whole site (and there are some with many pages) in search of a specific card.  We can still feature our favourite cards in our features option, one from each group if we want to.

Just a thought.

Many thanks.

I love that idea too Susie but then it might look a bit too much like that other place (Z). I think GCU want their own identity.  Smiley

There are links on the side bar of your shop that will show the cards by category, for example Happy Birthday?

Hi Susie,

This has been on the Wish List for a very long time, so just hang in there and perhaps someday we will be able to do that.

Suzie, look at Tom Rent and Rosannes stores, a perfect solution.  I am in the process of doing this on zazzle with my own links [ I don't like zazzles they are to big and horsey ] but through my lack of coding skills there are problems but they can be solved.  I think??? that Tom has even posted a how to on the forum, but I couldn't find it.

Hi Doreen,

Thanks for that.

I was thinking more on how to make it easier for the artists to keep track of their work.  I only have 12 cards in my store and once they start disappearing off page one they are out of sight and out of mind.  I understand there is the 'search' option box but I can't imagine what it must be like for other artists, some who have over 2000 cards on their store to keep track of them by remembering keywording etc.  It would be great to just drag and drop cards in to a particular collection box which are visually present on the first page.

I'll go and check out (z).

Bye.

Just been zazzled!

Hi Norval,

I think Tom Rent's storefront is on track.  His cards are great too and very funny. I couldn't find Rosannes store but will keep checking the site.

I have no coding ability whatsoever its enough for me to work out how to add text ... duh!

Thanks for the help.
