Editing Groups of Cards
May 11th, 2010, 6:02am

It's really great how you fixed it so when we are in manage cards and scroll to a page to edit a card, when we click save changes, we are go back to the same page.  Works very well for editing individual cards or cards that were listed in order.

However, when working on a group of cards (just working on new years cards) and select them under the browse by category, after editing card and clicking save changes, it returns to the first page in manage cards (not to the page where card was selected).

My experience with editing new year's cards:
In manage cards
From "Browse By Category" I select Holiday>New Year's
All my New Year's cards come up
Edit specific card image, title and key words
Click on "save changes"
Returns to page 1 under manage cards (not the page I was working from)

Have to go through this process for every card.

This makes editing groups of cards very time consuming.  Is there anyway you could make it return to the group of cards that were grouped through "browse by category" ?

Thanks for listening.  Hope you can make this change.
Happy day!
Kati

Kati,
One way around this is to select your group of cards, and then right click on your card and select 'open in new window' You can then edit the card and when finished go back to the first window which still contains your original seaarch.
It's a bit frustrating, particularly when you forget to 'open in new window' but quicker than having to create the search results again.

Hope this helps

I know another method.  I use this often and even used it this week a matter of fact.

I searched under Manage cards using keyword "2009" as I wanted to replace the graduation images with "2010s."  My search found about 5 cards.  I made new jpegs and uploaded them.  I then redid the search to pull back up the 5 cards.  I did a Change Image on the first one and it went fine, and when it was completed it took me back to Manage cards page 1 like you said.

To do the second card I just went up to the "back" button on my browser (IE) and it has a pulldown menu of all my recent pages.  The one with the search results of the 5 cards was several down on the list and was called "My cards."

Click on that one and you are back to the set of cards or the page you were originally working on.   Roll Eyes

Repeat this for each card.

Hi Tom, yes that works except when changing inside text I've found.

Another great solution! Thanks Tom.

I've been at this almost a year now and my early cards need much weeding and editing so really appreciate the help.  I've learned a great deal in the past 11 months mainly due to the awesome help and advise from the many stellar artists here on GCU who are willing to share and from the first-rate staff.  You are all remarkable.

Thanks again,
Kati
