Answering Doreen, I don't think it is a coincidence, I had posted a sale even before we had the button, within hours I had sold another of the same card only as a FlipEcard that time.  Note I had added FlipEcard to my keywording, I have since removed it by request, but browsing the web what should I see but the cards that had sold on Facebook listed with an image that you could buy it as a FlipEcard or as a Paper card from GCU!!!  This was not a GCU or Facebook ad, but a best buy consumer ad.  So If people know about this application they will buy.  It's just ashame that the application is mostly our little secret here on GCU.

Norval, I'm not sure what you mean with the best buy consumer ad. You said that if people know about this application they will buy, that it's a shame that the application is mostly our little secret. What are you referring to?

Hi Sandra, to answer your question, I just called it a best buy ad because I don't know where or who. It was the 'Marie Laveau' card which is unusual in it's self.  The ad  had GCU and my keywording FlipEcard real paper greeting card, under that my zazzle store, underthat my redbubble 'luvapples downunder', with prices, [ GCU had the lowest price is why I called it best buy].  I had just googled 'luv apples cardshop' was all I did.
To answer your other question, are you seeing any ads on the web other than us talking about it on the forum.  Are you seeing it talked about among Facebook friends other than the few who stumble up on it in the applications?  In the advertising world that's called a secret. Wink

Shaun, I have a new question.  When we share a card through the facebook share, and someone clicks through the card to make a purchase on GCU, do we get a seller's credit like we do when we use the code from a specific card?

Your seller id is not included in the link at the moment, but this is now on the programmer's list of things to add to the site   Smiley

I'll post back when it's live.

I love this feature!  Since I post regularly to FB (not just sales, or products) then this is an added feature and not seen as spam by my FBFriends.  I also LOVE that GCU listened to the artists and are working on artist credit for related sales from FB postings.

GCU Rocks ...

For anyone interested in "friending" me - look for me on Facebook as Dogbreedz - see you online!

now here's a fun update!

I posted my sale on FB, saying "Thank you, Shopper, for purchasing this card!" - then I added a line or two of conversation about that specific card (in this case, it is one of the images I use to raise funds for Cocker Spaniel Rescue).  My intent was to put out thanks to the Universe for this shopper, and possibly convert some FB friends to a sale - I have a LOT LOT LOT of Cocker show and rescue peeps in my network.

In the ensuing "likes" and "comments" who should post, but the purchaser herself!  She added her feel-good story about the image, talked about my cards in general AND found out information about my National Photo Tour this Summer and is coming to have me photograph her pets when I am in her part of the country.

All in all - I'd say this "share this sale" feature is a Raging Success.  Thank you, GCU!!!
