Sharing sales on Facebook
Apr 14th, 2010, 4:52pm

Hi Everyone,

Today we added a button to your Sale Notification emails that will let you post the card you just sold on Facebook.

Let us know if you come across any strange behavior when using this feature.

Please note that if you sell multiple cards in a particular order,  the share button will only link to the first card listed in the email.  In the future we'll likely add a button for every card contained in the email, but for now you can always click on the card and use the Facebook Share button that is included on the card details pages.

SmileyHi Shaun,

I had a few sales today, but do not see a button on the Sale Notification emails. Too early for the change maybe.

That's very likely, this change went live around the time I made the posting.

It worked for me yesterday, but today, when I went to share a sold card, no image at all showed up, like it did the first time. I tried it with 2 different cards, and neither one showed up.  Any suggestions?
Those who have successfully done this, did your card image appear?
thanks,
sandra

You'll see a Peace card with a daisy midway down, then above that "As a grandmother..," the newer post shows just the gcu link - no pic.   undecided  SSSOOOOO much better with the card image!!!!
Please help?

Hi Sandra,
I've seen this happen a couple of times as well, and when I try again a little while later it works.  I just tried posting your "As a grandmother..." card and the image did show up for me, can you try again when you get a chance and let me know if it works?

Cheesy Thanks Shaun.  Yes, it did work now.  I tried 3 or 4 different ways with different cards today, but nothing showed a thumbnail.  Now it did, so I posted the granddaughter baptism card with the actual image.! Smiley

This is pretty cool, Shaun!

I tried it this evening and it worked perfectly!

I just wanted to throw out a question to anyone reading and interested in answering:  How often do you (artist) think that you'll use this feature?  Every card sale?  Only on big sales of a certain amount?  Only for a special card?  Just curious.

I posted a 100 card sale, but, since I don't usually mention my sales here in the forums, or anywhere really, I felt a little odd about it.  BUT, I really wanted to try out the new feature.  Smiley

Share if you feel inspired to do so.

Wow, Penny!  Cheesy Congrats on your 100 card sale! That's terrific!  I don't plan sharing every card I sold.  I like to choose a card that I can tell people about - be it a short story about why I created it, a story someone shared with me, etc.  I might  just offer a note about it being a favorite card of mine, or an interesting location of the buyer.
Those are my thoughts, but I'm sure there are as many ways to share cards as there are people!  Have fun with it.  Wink

Shaun, I have a new question.  When we share a card through the facebook share, and someone clicks through the card to make a purchase on GCU, do we get a seller's credit like we do when we use the code from a specific card?
