Card # 525650 ?
Apr 5th, 2010, 12:24pm

Dear Support Team  Smiley

I was browsing the card category [birthday>non-English>other] and decided to enter <birthday Arabic> (<Arabic birthday> gave me the same result) into the window search and I have find out that my card # 525650 is there. Please, remove my card from <Arabic
Birthday.> It doesn't belong there and being there only confuses and alienates the customers.

This same card #525650 is in [birthday>non-English>Portuguese] as well, which is its real category and it should remain there.

Actually, there is a little mess in the data entrance into <birthday Arabic/ or Arabic birthday,> because from the five cards coming up in the search only one is actually in Arabic language.

My card is in Portuguese and features roses, the other three are in English and feature  Arabian breed horses.  Please, fix this too. Arabic and Arabian do not mean the same and are not interchangeable.

With the humongous number of cards in the site, these glitches are not unusual, but even expected. Therefore, I hope many more artists keep an eye on these little malfunctions and report them as soon as possible so the navigation of our site becomes as functional, pleasant, and reliable as possible for our customers and ourselves.

Thank you for taking care of this matter, for your amazing work, and for your outstanding support.
Leonilde

Hi Leonilde.

I don't believe GCU can delete a card from search criteria.  Your card is actually only in the category you wish it to be, but comes up on a search for <birthday Arabic> probably because your store name starts with AR.  The other three cards that came up probably did so because they are Arabian horses and that is in the keywords.

I found this oddity while trying to search for horse cards and was really frustrated because there was lots of cards that had absolutely nothing to do with horses...then I realized it was Flying Horse Designs store that was bringing those cards up in the searches  Grin

I might be wrong, but I believe this is the way searches work.

Doreen and all....
Sorry about the Flying Horse Design name bringing up all sorts of cards, but that is the name of my shop...seems to me that the filtering system needs to be tweaked...not a  new issue, but an issue.

Linda, don't apologize  Grin

It happens with other stores too.  I used yours as an example because I had just experienced it and it was kind of late at night, therefore sleepy eyes took longer to realize what I was looking at and why your cards were there  Grin

Hi Doreen!

All cards with the exception of yours are related.  Here's a link to the search results for "arabic birthday":
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/shopping/cb.asp?cid=8793&keyword=arabic+ birthday&button.x=0&button.y=0&cat_search=0

Although not all in Arabic language (#363595 is), 3 are titled and or keyworded as Arab or Arabian Horse Birthday cards.

As Doreen correctly states there is nothing to remove your card from as it is a function of the search logic. We will look into why your card was produced in these results.  I suspect it was the "arab" in this keyword you used:  p arabéns  which we have changed to parabéns.  If so, this change should fix it and be reflected w/in the next 24 hours.

We take artist name into consideration for onsite search in order to allow shoppers to search by artist name.  Sometimes unrelated cards do appear in search results due to this (ie: horses).

Mindy, Smiley
Just wondering did anyone ever figure why my cards do not come up when I search on my store name pamjarts. If you search on my name-Pamela Jorgensen- all my cards come up but if you search on my store name all that show are the 188 cards that I have now added pamjarts into the keywords.

Thank you for your explanation, Mindy.
The separation of the p from the rest of the word <parabens> is probably the key for the problem. Thanks for fixing it.

Thanks Mindy,
IF you have a chance that would be great. Smiley I have put myself on the map somewhat with the cards I have added my keywords too and my recent additions but it would be nice to pull up all my cards under pamjarts since that is what I promote more than my name.
