Reviewers with questions
Apr 2nd, 2010, 2:30pm

Just a suggestion, but if a reviewer has a question on a card or believes keywords are incorrect, could they contact the artist before editing or rejecting the cards?  I've had some miscatagorized (an honest mistake) and they had to fix them, and now I have some where they are editing the keywords improperly, removing keywords that ARE applicable to the card (a card for a fisherman's birthday having "fisherman" removed from the keywords as misleading?!).  I even used the "notes" to explain the relationship so I wouldn't have this problem!  It would be much easier for everyone if they just asked for clarification first, so things didn't need to be changed later.  I'm sure there's plenty of times where they are correct, but there must be those where they are not.  If they waited for a reply before changing them, it would save everyone some time and frustration, especially in a case of a group of cards.

This is a significant problem.  I have had the same thing happen, and the reviewer was wrong!  I am a linguist, with successful  backgrounds in business, advertising, anthropology, and sociology.  I understand what will turn the customer on, and wants to see.  Further, a couple of the notes I got, the reviewer couldn't (or didn't bother) to write correct English.  It is getting in the way of sales for everyone.

Your fisherman cards in questions are being re-reviewed.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Many artists like us to make the changes for them to get the card up asap  ... and like you, many artists do not like us to make the changes for them so we're kind of stuck in the middle so please work with us here as there is some variance.

We've asked the reviewers to be more accommodating with the keywords.

Thanks for your patience!  Smiley

RE: reviewers notes in correct English - they do their best to articulate what the issue is in as few words as possible and get to the other 1,000 cards awaiting there review.  Thanks for your understanding!  Any you can always reply to the card review emails and ask for clarification or make your case.
