Show and Tell!  See how I would 'Sell These Cards'
Apr 2nd, 2010, 12:53pm

Ok, so I'm not actually marketing GCU cards online as an affiliate, but I wanted to give an example of what I have been eluding to in my previous posts.  It is one thing to tell how to do something, and it is another to show.  I feel like I have told everyone about the basic theories, and now you can see these basic theories in action from a Squidoo lens that I just published!   Cool

Take a look at http://www.squidoo.com/nursesday and let me know if you can guess what keyword phrase I focused on  Cheesy

If you have any questions about what I have done here, or why I did/didn't do what I did/didn't do... Odds are that someone else has that same question, too! Ask it here and I can answer it to the best of my abilities for us all to learn from!

Happy Friday!

Great example, Miles!

Everyone can use Squidoo, a blog, or another service to promote GCU cards by connecting a subject you know about with relevant greeting cards. Of course, you'll have to be patient - it can take 3-4 months to start seeing results - but if you don't put it out there, it can't garner traffic, and you can't earn $$.  Grin

There's no time like the present to write about what you know and love.

Here's one of our highest earning Squidoo lenses - you can see a good example of how to leverage the Sell This Card feature within an informational web page.

A word of advice: avoid general subjects since there are a million such pages already out there and you don't want to get buried under the competition. Focus on a unique topic or original spin to what's already out there.

i will try this one more time.. but for some unknown reason i have a mental block when it comes to squidoo with all these extra links and areas.  i don't know why.

i love to research, i am the go to girl when it comes to being an information hound.  i have found information on obscure paintings, plant and flower species,  found friends and family ties and info that others gave up on, and i love it....i would have no real problem finding info or links.

but something about putting it all together is throwing up a brick wall.  i have read corries' wonderful 101 it is very good, but i still got stumped.   i know it is something simple, probably just the fact that it looks complicated and tedious that is stalling me out.

...and the fact that i have no idea what i would write about.  my butterfly story is something i like to share but i have trouble honing in on an area to write about.  maybe it is just the old saying "jack of all trades - master of none"   too many things i like,  to narrow in on a choice and not sure anyone else would even be interested.  i guess i need to make a list. Huh

I was just browsing around Google for "Nurses Day Cards" this morning and found the nurses day squidoo page I made on the bottom of page 3   Cool

I have literally forgotten about this web 2.0 property I created in April and did no additional marketing, whatsoever...   With a link or two from my blog and a couple links from other web 2.0 properties, I am confident this lens could reach the first page.

Remember, I'm not a nurse, never have been... And in fact, I know absolutely nothing about nurses, nursing or nurses day.  I simply chose a topic, did some research, wrote my own unique version and published it.

Could you imagine having 50 of these types of pages out there pointing to your cards and your store?  Do you think that would have an impact on your business?  Do you think you would earn additional affiliate commissions on top of the card commissions?  Shocked

If you made 1 web 2.0 property per week... Not only would you get really good at making these within a year, but you would indeed have over 50 pages like this pointing to your store and your cards!
