OH, i so agree Willaim!
Frankly I feel this breaks the rule of 3 cards the same, seeing the exact card with only a Name change on front is ridicuous ( or 1st-90th bday), Why not make the card as: Happy Birthday (Your Text Name or Year) What was worst was all the names whether boy or girl were all the same color PINK what guy wants a pink card! At least make the boys in Blue or something. Thern a person says over 10,000 cards well yeah if you do 100 cards the same x's 100 different cards does equal 10,000. Where I, if appropriate like wedding card creat 3 color versions and have a link for other color choices they can request. So I have 1500 cards, all different and unique, with few multiples.
Their also was another same image of a every single day of the month, Oct 1-31st and Dec 1-31st And its March!
Then when i see all 300 of those go thru and ive been waiting 7-10 days for approvals makes it more annoying.

Whats this DENISE?: .  "i had 42 new cards.. 42 unique cards that i had gone through a good bit of time submitting, resubmit, change categories etc all finally approved in the same 24 hour period"

24 hours, what senior members get turn around priority????

And why are my cards never reviewed in sequence (all same category), I'll see a section go thru but in between them some are held back for no reason!

Ive got 44 pending and another 100+ coming down the pipeline (uploading), and dont forsee them in GCU till mid April at this rate. Then 2 months waiting for them in search engines to really be out their for the public to notice, Y'all might as well remove that thing that says: Approx 4 day approval time, cause thats false. Angry

Okay done griping!

I agree that the "newest card" feature needs an over haul.  It is frustrating and brain numbing and I don't even look there anymore.  I'm sure a much more practical use of the feature will be implemented, but in the mean time, why not just get rid of it?

When the "custom feature at no extra charge" came out, I stopped doing series of Invitations (best man, bride's maid, etc.), birthdays 1-100, and so on.  Instead I uploaded the image and put in my Artist Notes that "this card can easily be customized for your specific needs", or something like that.  Not only did I not get custom requests, I noticed a drop off of sales.  Hence, back to the creating of MANY cards with the specific year, family relation, or whatever.  Again time consuming, card reviewer nightmare, and brain numbing, but sales picked up again.  So, what can be done about this I wonder?

I understand the mentality of the shopper wanting immediate satisfaction, but there must be some way to save us as creative creatures from becoming brain dead and the reviewers from vomiting when they see card after card with the same image but the change of a word or number.  With fewer of the same card series coming through it should speed up the review process as well.

Perhaps for those uploading a "series", once the original image and inside text is approved there could be a "waive review" similar to the one we have now (only one that does not simply add the card to "Private Gallery".  There must be something that is quite simple and easy to implement.

NO absolutely not... notice i said they were finally approved in the same 24 hour period.  these cards were in the queue for nearly 2 weeks.  they were all sent back to me except for 1, i had to resubmit 41 of them to change a category, i disputed that , then they were resubmitted to put in another category. approved in 2 separate batches over a 24 hour period.   I promise you  i get no priority approval or preferential treatment.  poor wording on my part due to fatigue but that is all.

Well of course it's a lightly travelled page. whoever would want to repeat the experience of being bored to death with almost the same card over and over and over.  Roll Eyes

The low traffic really has to do with the constant changing of content and data on a 24 hours basis.  Nothing meaty for search engines to sink their teeth into.

We're looking into some ways to make this view more interesting and valuable.

Maybe you could turn that section into Stores that had New Cards approved that Day?  Perhaps the system could be requested to pull 1 card from each store that had cards approved that day and if you click on that card you are taken to that store.  Not all of us get cards approved every day, so shoppers would be sent to stores that have been updated and they can then shop around from there.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Smiley

RE: the reuse of near identical images.  We have stressed before that the image/content should ...

1. relate to the occasion
2. relate to the recipient's age
3. relate to the recipient's gender

For example, a photo of a lovely pine cone may be fine for Christmas or maybe even Dad's birthday or Father's Day but it is unlikely a fitting choice for Mom, Nurses Day, a 15 year old girl, etc.  I was going to add Valentine's Day but with a creative verse along the lines of "pining for you" it could be a great card.

Get creative, add some variety, change things up to resonate with the target audience.

As for the New Cards view you will soon see this tab replaced with a different existing view (Favorites or other) until we devise a different and more effective way to represent new cards.
