Store Front
Mar 4th, 2010, 8:36am

I think I have my store front pretty much the way I want it.  I have a lot of captions to add yet and cards, but the opening page is pretty well set for awhile.  I would appreciate it if you would take a look and any suggestions are welcome.  Be sure to listen to the music it's beautiful.           Norval

Nice...a few comments for what they're worth:

Why do you display your Product Gallery above your Featured Gallery?   Roll Eyes  Since you hand pick the cards in Featured it tends to show more variety.

Your Mucha Fantasy image is beautiful however I'm wondering if its large size is impeding shoppers from seeing your card thumbnails at a glance.  When scrolling down it takes me a few eyefuls before I get to the cards.  The shorter your welcome area the better.

Love your store banner highlighting several card designs showing variety.  Smiley

Norval (hi)

Your storefront looks great.  I'm with Mindy on the size of the Mucha image, great as it is.  Also, in your banner top, those icons would be great if "clickable" to differentt parts of your store.  Check with Tom, I think he knows how to do that (as long as you are going to all that effort).  Myself, I choose not to use "featured cards" but if you ARE using that, I agree they should be presented first.  But all in all,  I like the look! Thanks for replying Mindy.  The featured does show more variety, but it goes back to that old discussion about showing what is popular.  You were right on that subject way back :-D.  The ones you see in the gallery are the ones the public seems to want and continue to sell, so I put them in up front.  I still don't have everything moved yet or the golden collection cards would not be there, bombs.  The featured is what I wish would sell, so I put it at the bottom, I can change it often, and it will be used mainly for non-english.  When I had it the other way around people still bought the same cards, just not as often, so I decided to make it easier for them to find them and sales increased Huh.
The size of the 'Mucha'?----in the store I really am putting on a show for those very few who find it.
[ ALL ]  my sales come from spicific engine searches, I can tell from the sales notices.

Thanks Ernestine, I want to make so much as clicable links and I just don't have the knowledge.  I want a menue like Tom has.  I looked at his store it is very to the point and customer friendly.
The large Mucha painting I will size it down.  The painting and music will change weekly.  I am trying to give the impression of a fine gallery to those few who can find their way to the store.  As I told Mindy above [ All ] sales are coming from specific engine searches, so my job with the gallery is to make it easier for them, but also leave an impression that it's a nice place they might want to come back for something different. The large painting as a piece of art I hope will leave that impression, but only time will tell.

Tora,  Grin You saw my one and only word.  I have an artist friend over on Zazzle I put my Danish 'Tak' card on, he is with an airline and flies the Iceland, Denmark route.  He is Icelandic and asked me to add the Icelandic to the card so he could send it to friends in both places.  Do you think I should do the same here at GCU.  I have a lot of 'Tak' cards on.  I love languages  Smiley.
