To Leonilde, thanks for the complimnet, and to answer your question, I am both.
 
Bright Star is my Mohegan name given to me by my Great Grandfather, a Mohegan Native American.
He was a chief, but there are many chiefs in one tribe, like senators!
He gave me the name of Bright Star at my birth because of my eyes.  
 
Mom used to joke around and say it's a good thing Great Grandfather didn't hear the two buses
driving by or I might have had a very different name.  Haha.
 
Mary is my European name and I am named after my Gramma Mary who was called May.
 
I go by Bright informally and Mary for legal (tax) reasons only.
