Celebrity birthdays

I've often wondered about this....What actual purpose does it serve to have the celebrity birthdays on your store page? Does it help with sales and how? Just curious.  Cheesy

Interesting question.  I don't have the celebrity birthdays in my storefront, I can't imagine that anyone really cares, though maybe they do.

I laughed at this when I first joined...I thought to myself, if someone is sending a greeting card to a celebrity because they are a fan, they are wasting their money and perhaps a wee bit nuts?!?!?!  Grin

No immediate sales driving purpose.... just some trivia related to reminders and birthdays that people often find of interest.  We used to include in reminder "see who else shares your/Mindy's birthday".

I have a card for Beethoven's birthday, but I don't think he's on the Reminders list.

I don't have it on my storefront either but I was browsing and did just see it on someone's store so it got me to wondering about it.

Mindy, I thought it was along the lines of trivia and interest but thought I'd ask in case I was missing something.

Joan, LMAO....I truly did just laugh out loud! Is that Beethoven the musician or the dog?  Grin

Celebrity Birthdays? Hmmmm. Do they have to be dead and gone for over 50 years or more? I ask as some that are still living might not like their likeness being sold by others. Is there some catch 22 sort of thing for doing just that? If not, I'd love to try some of that in my own cartoonish kind of way or make the celebrity a real portrait, sort of. Still, I've seen some artist that already do this sort of stuff and wonder if we could ever have a ghost of a chance to do the same. Are there limits on this issue? I so do wonder. Huh Roll Eyes Huh Huh Wink

Not sure if we're on the same page here... we do not have a category nor card nor reminders for sending a celebrity a card on their birthday w/ their likeness on it.  In fact most if not all of these if using the celebrity's image would not be allowed.
