I was contacted by Mike's assistant Lisa Heller via my Zazzle store - I asked about him at the Zazzle forum, and was referred to this thread. I'd never heard of Greeting Card Universe! I'm less excited knowing that 50+ people have been contacted - but looking forward to hearing more about your experiences with this organization. You know, (I know I've said similiar things before, but it bears repeating...) it is truly a wonderful experience to belong to a community like GCU. Here we know where we stand and we have a parent company whom we can (and do) trust. We can relax and know that GCU is out for the best of all of us and they are never out to 'pull a fast one' on us. They are working every day, even when we are not, trying to promote the company-- trying to promote us and our work, all the while working endlessly to improve the site. Without so much as an old-fashioned-handshake... Aren't we a blessed community?!

Hi Sue'

I was one of the first ones to ask about this gentleman's contact and I have seen here that many artists have contacted him back by phone.

I have decided to contact him by email to ask about the conditions, and to be sure if he meant Spanish cards versus Hispanic?? like he mentioned in the email, but I have never received anything back. Maybe he was embarrassed with the gaff of a non expert who confuses Spanish Language with Hispanic Roll Eyes

Or he did not like the idea of having it written, which constitutes by itself an irrefutable document. That is, by phone you can always say that someone did not understand what you intended to say.

Anyway, just a little note to give you some feed back from my experience on this event.

Hi everybody,
Wanted to leave a little info about how things with mike o. from modus operandi turned out - namely: no follow-ups.
I sent him a few low-resolution designs and did not get any reply.
I then sent him an email asking him about his decisions and did not get an answer either.
This is for me very poor business manners. A short email stating "sorry, we won't take your designs" doesn't take more than one minute.

I completely agree with Sue Baumgardner. Thank you GCU for treating us artists differently: namely with politness, respect and integrity. kiss

Hi GCU folks,
I phoned Mike Oleskow this morning. Got an Answering Machine and left a message. I told him people were getting concerned and that I thought he should have the courtesy to contact us, otherwise we would be left wondering if our images had been pirated. No answer thus far. Not looking good folks.
Glad I didn't send him much and yet still hoping to be proved wrong... Roll Eyes
