Perhaps this has been addressed. If so, I am sorry to bring it up.  
Store name in keywords: Is this allowed? If so, it should be reconsidered. A customer of mine did a search, (I won't type the words here, for fear of upsetting a fellow artist)and was flooded with page after page of cards that had absolutely nothing to do with her search. I checked the search myself and several pages of cards that do not belong under that particular search appeared.  
Just thought I would pass this along as a customer was very irritated with the problem. I'm not to happy with it either.  
But hey, I will go with the flow...

It is not prohibited nor is it recommended to put your artist name or store name in the keywords field.  There are a few things at play here and I do not believe any of them are done in bad faith:
 
* With a traditional artist name i.e: Mindy Rosso (traditional for the 60's I guess  ) there typically are very few search result issues, I'll call it confusion, with this kind of name in keywords
 
* Where some confusion begins is when the name used (most often the store name vs the artist name) includes everyday words i.e: Horse, Apple, Dogs, Rose, etc. that are possible search terms a shopper may use looking for "content"
 
* When producing onsite search results keywords are NOT the only terms taken into consideration.  GCU search results also account for Store Name and category.  So even if an artist doesn't put their store name in the keywords field it will still impact search results.  This is done in an effort to provide shoppers searching by artist name to find that artist's collection & storefront
 
This topic has come up before and we've found it is somewhat isolated and at this time something that is unavoidable.  The alternative would be eliminating store names from the search results but we feel this is not a reasonable trade off since the majority of artists would suffer.
 
Hope this clarifies things and please let us know if the search term your shopper used was not one I've described above that would cause "confusion".  Thank you!

Wow, this is an interesting subject.  I don't use my store name or my name in my keywords for GCU and I used my store name in the search as it would show after the GCU URL, so I entered SalonOfArt and got all 862 of my cards.
 
But the odd thing is that logic doesn't work with Tom or Pamela's stores...I don't get it  

Interesting. Ok, since it's not prohibited, I will put my store name in the keywords too.  Like Mindy said, the problem only occurs if you have a popular search word in your store name. For instance, my store name has Mountain in it, only because that is my last name, so any search using the word mountain will pull up ALL of my cards as well. Even if they have nothing to do with a real mountain.   Fair? I don't know! That's why I asked the question.

I find this amusing...when I do a search for Flying horse design 3,751 cards show up
                             "                            "   flyinghorsedesign   1,828         "
                              "                           "   my family name     4,017         "
My store actually has 4,018 approved cards
 
Now there are several reasons for the discrepancies:  cards where I was not consistant about the keywords, or cards that I did not use either my store name or family name as keywords, etc.
 
For my purposes, though, store name and family name as keywords have been added for quite some time...I don't even mess with those first 2 keyword entries.
