Are the Flash widgets gone for good? (Read 1085 times)

Gail_131703 GCU Newbies artist Posts: 50	Are the Flash widgets gone for good? Jan 12^th, 2010, 10:17am The javascript one is too big for my page, so I'm hoping the Flash ones will return. But it's been weeks, and I'm wondering how long I should wait before just putting in a simple link. I'd rather have a widget, of course, for the nice appearance and extra $$. Will the Flash ones ever return? Thanks.

Reply #2 - Jan 12^th, 2010, 2:17pm Is it possible that the flash widget is no longer used because basically it is just a slideshow and the words cannot be picked up as tags where as in java the words act as tags and can still be picked up by the search engines? That is one reason many people go for java rather than a flash widget. Cheryl

Cheryl, I didn't know that. Great information, thank you for mentioning the difference between java and flash. I knew they looked different but I didn't know the search engine reference.

I posted last night that the Card Sellers Member widget isn't working at all, nor do we have options so I'm linking that post here in case the GCU folks get to this listing.

It would be nice to have a small banner that gives the affiliate credit for both sellers and artists. There are times when a widget is just too distracting. So if that is a possibility, some of us would truly benefit from your efforts.
