Another Question... since i am a good person     , and have only sent a few ecards ever with good  notes...   Do ppl (buyers) who choose to send them generally put acceptable sayings inside ecards?   Are those things ever checked?  Just curious.  I don't have many cards with notes so i wanted to know how all that will be?   Are those included too?

Thank you for your feedback and support.  The new setting for FlipEcards is now ready under Global Preferences.  Again please note, you only need to take action to EXCLUDE yourself from offering FlipEcards and participating in the GCU Application on Facebook.

To answer some questions/concerns...
 
1) WATERMARK / IMAGE PROTECTION - we will implement the same the watermark practices on the GCU Application for Facebook and FlipEcards as used on GCU today.  Based on your settings the image protection watermark will be on all images with the exception of thumbnails.  The same for FlipEcards however the difference being the end product is electronic.  The FlipEcard sent to the recipient will NOT have a watermark.  There is no "forwarding" of FlipEcards, they will not be sent in the body of an email.  As for the recipient copying the FlipEcard image, it is in a Flash animation which makes it extremely difficult to copy any images.
 
2) PHOTO CARDS AND CUSTOM REQUESTS - These will not be option on the GCU Application for Facebook as the communication between Facebook user and artist would likely be cumbersome.  We hope over time satisfied users of GCU App for Facebook will become shoppers on the GCU site itself which offers more full service features (ie: photos cards, custom requests, photo upload, etc.).  We intend to supress photo cards from being offered on the GCU App on Facebook.
 
3) ARTISTS' USE OF ECARDS - the "Photo" Ecard feature on GCU today will remain.  This allows anyone, artists and shoppers alike, to upload a file and send it as a free Ecard.  At this time we do not have any plans to change this feature.  Yes, there will be a fee for artists to send FlipEcards however we're likely to offer an artists' discount as done today for paper greeting cards.
 
4) INSIDE VERSE FONT SIZE - we do not plan on making any modifications to the inside verse view for FlipEcards (sorry Tom  ).  The shopper has the option to modify the inside verse including font size before sending.
 
5) ADVERTISEMENTS - GCU itself is relatively ad free and this will be the same for FlipEcards as well as the GCU App on Facebook.  Our goal is to give them value directly through the products (cards) and not distract them with related or unrelated products & services.
 
6) CHERRY POINTS - we will look into this although at first glance Asia is a relatively small % of our Facebook population.  Users will pay via regular credit card transactions with PayPal being an option in the future.
 
7) ALL CARDS AS FlipEcards - This is a global setting per artist and can not be managed on a card by cards basis.  So for each artist it is all or nothing.
 
8) SALES NOTIFICATION EMAILS - Yes, you will receive sales notification emails for paper card sales from the GCU App on Facebook.  We're not yet sure if we can pass the "source" but it is our intent to do so.  It is also our intent to provide sales notification emails for FlipEcard sales from Facebook as well.  Again, this will be subject to what we are technically able to do within the Facebook environment and the ease of automating the data/process between our Facebook App and GCU.
 
9) SALES YET? - Nope, none yet as the application is not live yet.  Scheduled by the end of January.

sally since these will be private and personal cards, anyone would be free to write what ever they choose to write inside them.  no one else will see it except the person who is receiving it

Hi Mindy et al,
As most of you know, I've been out of the loop for awhile, but I'm back now.  
I just stumbled across this bit about 'flip' e-cards.  All sounds very exciting.  Can't wait to actually see one.  Perhaps I'm overly optomistic, but I can't help but think this will result in significant sales.  Will we have annimation?  How about tiered pricing... say the customer wants to send 50 Easter-E-Cards (same card) rather than just one?  Perhaps even sell discount memberships  so they can send a card anytime while their membership is in effect (say 50 cards pre-paid at half price?); and the memberships could be bought and given as gifts to others... which of course would be a great advertisement for GCU-- spreading our name further and wider every time...
You may have already discussed all this else where while I've been on recess; if so please forgive me.

Are any gcu apps working right now that are on FB?  Mine is not.  I don't mean this new one.  
 
Also, Mindy... I think my question was answered by someone up there.  I never got any reply notices which is why i am so late in answering.
