Category selection impossible

Hi - Happy New Year!!!
 
For the last week or so I've been unable to make any cards. The image uploads just fine, but when I come to select a category the page merely takes me back to the top of the page. It doesn't matter what I tick or don't tick or fill in or not - it won't let me select a category which also means I can't move on to complete the card - because it tells me I've not selected a category. Hmmm...

Hi Susan
I thought this was a problem that only I had
For me the selections work hit and miss sometimes for days I cant get it to work Very Frustrating undecided All you can do is keep trying and smiling!!

Thanks for the sympathy, Terry. I'm afraid, though, that there's a limit to the number of times I'm going to try something that doesn't work and yet still maintain a smile...
 
Susan (not snarling, but not smiling either) (not the most patient person on earth when it comes to inanimate objects)
 
Mind you - I have been trying to make these cards for at least a week and not succeeded in making any at all!

Hi Susan,
 
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.  This sounds like an issue with the JavaScript on that page.  Can you let me know what operating system you are using (Windows, OSX, etc.) and what browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc)?  
 
Also, when you are trying to select a category can you tell me if the page has finished loading?  Usually you'll see "Done" at the bottom of the page or something like "waiting for reply from..." if the page is still loading.  You will not be able to select a category until the page has finished loading.

Because of what you said I tried it through Internet Explorer and it worked just fine. I had been trying to do it through Firefox. That's obviously what it was - although I don't understand why it should do it through FF and not through IE.
 
I'll just have to remember to use IE for GCU.
 
Anyway, just to answer the other bits - I use Windows XP and the page was indeed 'done'.

Hi Susan,
Glad to hear that you were able to get it working.  This should be work in Firefox, but you may want to check the following:
1. Be sure you have the latest version of Firefox which is version 3.5.6.  You can check your version number by clicking Help > About Mozilla Firefox
2. Check to see if you have Javascript enabled.  Click Tools > Options > Select the "Content" tab > Check the box titled Enable Javascript

Hi Shaun - sorry for the delay in replying.
 
I checked my Firefox and it is version 3.5.6 and Javascript was enabled.
 
So it's a bit of a mystery.
