Photo Cards - Prevent Checkout w/o Customization

We have quickly put in place a feature that will prevent a shopper from purchase a Photo Card without having contacted the artist for customization. This is done at checkout via a warning and by not allowing them to proceed.

Also for the time being we have removed all Photo Cards from our other sites (non-GCU sites) since those sites do not yet have the functionality to Request a Custom Card (palette icon).

These are some quick fixes to prevent any future orders made in error.

Please let us know if you notice anything out of place. We do have additional wishes for this feature but in consideration of time they will not yet be added.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through the kinks of this new Custom Request process and photo cards!

We believe that in the long run it will be well worth the snags we've encountered along the way.

Nicely done, GCU as per usual. I truly appreciate how you listen to our suggestions...it is nice to be a part of a place that listens, considers and respects our input. As far as "snags" go...just growing pains and I am grateful to be a part of the growing process....

Recently I was "cat watching"(thanks for the tag Whisperer) the 'recently sold cards'...saw a photo card sold without photos, it might have been one of Eugenia Bacon's...is this the way they might appear in the "recently sold"? Or did someone order it that way?

You guys are amazing at times. While we are on the subject, I looked at the last 30 days of sales site-wide and it seems not many of these types have been ordered yet, though the order size is very nice!

I do have a question on the first 2 lines of the report above ... is this the same order listed twice, as the card might be in both categories? How are cards listed in multiple categories shown in the sales report? I think we have asked this question several times and I don't recall seeing an answer.

I'd like to see a promo for this card type at some point. Not sure if you have a way to do category specific promos but that would be useful I'd think. For instance, if there was a promo available for Valentine's Day cards now, it could "pop-up" when a shopper is at checkout and say "Save xx% off this order by adding xx Valentine's day cards - use promo code VALSAVE2010" or some such wording.

Per the report, yes, statistics are reflected in each category the card is in so in some cases (when the card's in 2 cats) you will see duplicate reportings.
