GCU Sales
Nov 23rd, 2009, 1:24pm

I'm wondering if there is a page where we can take a look at the GCU sales figures.  I would like it if we could look at the overall sales per month, and then we could look at our own individual sales and get an idea of whether or not our (individual) sales are representative of the overall trend.
When my sales go down, I wonder if that is true for the site sales in general.  When my sales go up, I'd like to know if that too is representative of sales in general.
Also I would really like to get an idea of the growth of GCU, from start to present.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Sue

Hey Sue...
Nice question and I doubt that you will get an answer though I hope you do.  I still want to know if and when GCU will go on the public market...

It's not my place to respond for GCU, but I wouldn't expect them to publish data like that, Sue, for competitive reasons.

Hi ladies and Tom,

Unfortunately that's the kind of information private companies typically do not share with the public.  Mainly due to competitors having access to such sensitive data.   Our artist guru, Mr. Rent, is pretty savy with his calculations and estimations, so that's one available channel for ballpark numbers.  I can share with you that our sales continue to grow for just about every month year-over-year figures.  Last month was our best month ever, and this month is tracking to beat last month's sales.    We're still not close to where we plan to be, but certainly going the right direction.

Of course, increases in GCU sales may not translate to increased sales for every artist, for a variety of reasons.   The advantage the early artists have is the longer time they've had their cards crawled and indexed by search engines.   As long as you have key cards that are in demand by searching shoppers combined with descriptive title and keywords, you should be in good shape Smiley

Sorry I can't provide more details.  Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday Smiley

Nasser, I figured that would be the response. . . that's why I queued up Tom as he seems to be able to extrapolate somewhat meaningful figures -- though I do understand what he has provided is from his own data and does not apply to the site as a whole.  (Not meaning to speak of you, Tom, as thought you weren't there -- all your info in greatly appreciated!  Smiley )
