Need help with a custom request
Nov 20th, 2009, 3:43am

I got an email for a custom request from a shopper...as I've never received one of these before can someone give me baby steps with what I need to do? Do I just make the cards up and then use her email address that was in the email that was sent to me to show them to her? And then when she is pleased with one of them I upload it to my private gallery and fast track it or can I fast track it and put it up in public?

I appreciate any advice/help give.  Smiley

Cheryl, If it's not too complicated i.e. the changes requested are quite simple, you can create the card, upload it and fast track it for approval. I did a custom request this way and gave the client a choice of 2.

If you want to go back and forwards for corrections, upload the card, click on the 'Free eCards' link in the header, click on the Photo ecards link on the top LHS, Your uploaded image(s) will be there. E-mail your customer an e-card. Or I see nothing wrong with e-mailing the card direct, either way just be aware that the image may be usable by the client - maybe inclued a watermark to prevent this.

Congratulations and good luck - hope it turns into a sale for you.

I received a request this past year to change the verse on the front of a card.  So I made the changes, uploaded it back to GCU as a new card, and clicked Fast Track.  I then emailed the buyer through their email that I had done the changes and it was in line for GCU's review and would be posted soon.   When GCU approved it they notified me that it was ready and that they had moved it into my private gallery.  I sent a second email to the buyer stating it was approved and ready for them and that the card could be found in my private gallery in my store.  It was purchase immediately and then it was purchased a second time a week later.  Smiley

Hope that is helpful.

If it is very clear what they want, and they appear ready to buy, then make up the card and Fast-Track it to the Private Gallery in parallel with emailing them a smaller version to review/approve (you can use the eCard approach if desired).  Make any final edits using the "Change Image" method.  When all is done then email them the URL to the card in the private gallery along with your appreciation for the business and suggest that you'd be more than willing to do it again anytime.

Let us know how it goes, OK?  Are they planning to order more than your minimum?

Congrats!

Thanks for all the advice....I've taken it all on board. Will let you know how it pans out.

I also got another request from another customer.... 2 in 2 days, weird since I've never received any before.  Cheesy

Thanks again

Cheryl

PS Mindy, the product ID's are 529699 & 529540 if you could get them fast tracked for me...although I have ticked that box, thought I'd might as well mention it here too. Smiley

I got a notification today for the sale....299 cards! Well over my minimum order size.  Cheesy This is my biggest bulk sale so I'm pretty chuffed about it.

I googled the persons name who I'd been emailing with and she is a lawyer from Kansas so it seems our cards are going to all sorts of people out there.  Cheesy

I hope everyone else is doing well in their sales atm.  Smiley
