What kinds of things make cards not print out well
Sep 11th, 2009, 10:24am

Yes, the subject is my question.  I cannot afford to buy all my cards right now and I do tend to stretch the limits design wise.  If anyone had a specific card that did not come out well, due to design or color especially,
I would like to see it or have it described.  I think this will help many people do more with their cards.

I've lightened some of the photos that I used in my cards after I saw them printed to show up more of the detail.  I'm also widening borders in some cards or eliminating them in other cards because the trimming can vary in the finished card.  Some of my borders were so narrow that they were almost trimmed off.  I did do some crazy colors on one card that didn't print well, but I think that was a problem with my photo-editing program (operator error).  Otherwise, the colors always have printed exactly how I hoped. You have beautiful cards!

Thanks, Catherine. That gives me a better grasp on the issue.

Do you set your template  size to 2160x1560?

All the cards that I have ordered have had FANTASTIC color.  The border issue is another thing.  I was very disappointed in all of the borders on my last order.  I hope they have fixed the problem by now, but I will avoid putting borders on in the future unless absolutely necessary.  The were not even.... and I went by the template guide too.  One of my large orders of 25 of one design was exactly right-on.  The inconsistency is what bothers me most... not knowing what the customer is going to receive.
