Sunflowers and Balloons

I've been on a kick lately with sunflowers and hot air balloons. It started the beginning of august when I went along with a friend to a photo shoot. There was a cool sunflower field and there just happened to be a hot air balloon. Then about 4 weeks later I attended a local festival and they had 6 hot air balloons so of course I went nuts with the pix.

Is anyone else on a card making kick??

I have some beautiful sunflower cards in my shop. I was taking pictures of my neighbor's sunflowers and did not realize I had included a bumblebee in the picture. It as perfectly visible on the edge of the sunflower. Since it was an overcast day, the sky was almost white looking and the bee was perfectly detailed.

Don't you love it when the latest creative passion is recognized and sells.
I have sometimes been so excited about a card or series of cards....and then....nothing, no clicks no sales.

I too got the bright flower vibes before I left for vacation, I used in them in a Bridesmaid series, a few sold when I was away. It felt so good.

As for on a sales making kick, I am bursting to get to it, but having just got back from vacation I haven't had a chance yet. Sad

That is why I always keep that hidden and only have it available when I'm checking on my text.

Way to go Pamela!! And yes it is great when a new creation sells. I've actually had a couple of sales and I think that was because I went back to my older cards (well I still have 9 pages to go) and beefed up the keywords. One I beefed up last night sold this morning so I need to keep it up. Grin

I just finished illustrating a kids book about sunflowers. . . there is just something about them. . . gotta luv 'em! I have a couple of sunflower cards (love painting them, growing them, putting them in vases) and they are actually my most recently sold cards (to different folks, different places).m They have such "personality." Cheesy

Nice photos of the balloons.

We have a huge hot air balloon fiasco here Sept.19th and 29th. It is at the White Sands Natl. Mon. I will probably go since it is the first time i have had a decent camera. They also have what they call a balloon glow where the balloons do not lift off but it is at night and they fire the propane and it light up the balloons.

this link is of a gigapan shot of the white sands, you can zoom right into the very detail of the sand the photos were taken from quite a ways away. I heard that the photographer is going to paste some lizards in different places and people can search the photo for the lizards to see if they can find all of them.

Wow that sounds like it will be amazing. Make sure you bring a tripod - get some AMAZING pictures and I can't wait to see them. Have a blast and make sure you bring plenty of memory. I shot close to 400 images and filled one card and thankfully I had the second as a back up which I needed as we drove to a sunflower field and caught a couple of the balloons over the mountains and sunflower field - great shots.
